Since Jul 2007

I am a retired HS teacher and my wife also taught for many years. I lived about ten years of my life outside of the US including three years in Germany as a kid and we taught English in China. My wife was a Peace Corps volunteer and taught in Tanzania. I've always thought India was the ultimate trip and have been there three times (my wife four times) and spent about six months in all. I am happy that my time in places like Libya, Afghanistan, and Iran was decades ago. We love Brazil, France, Sweden, Portugal, India, Indonesia, New Zealand, and a few other places as well. There are still new places to visit and some old ones still have an attraction. After decades of trying to travel affordably I still prefer to hit the road with a backpack in search of new experiences. Over the years we have hosted seven foreign exchange high school students and one exchange teacher which helped us understand some foreign cultures a bit better.
