It is hard to believe that I have lived in Hawaii for thirty one years - six years on Oahu and twenty five on the Big Island (in Kailua Kona).
I started visiting Hawaii at the ripe old age of four because the company my father worked for had an office in Honolulu. People often ask if I would ever move back to California, my home state, and I have to say no because Hawaii feeds my soul. I moved here for the weather but I stayed because of the people.
I hesitate to call myself an expert, except when it comes to ocean adventures like diving and fishing. My late husband was a captain and a dive master here and my son has carried on his passion for the ocean, even having manta ray named after him. My sincere wish is to have visitors come to love the Hawaii that I know.
