Since Jan 2007

65+ year old male

Wellington, Florida

My wife and I have traveled together for 50 years, mostly to Europe. We have been to several countries in Africa and the Middle East, nearly all of Latin America and 3 weeks in China where we got as far as Tibet. We always have our next few trips planned, including air tickets in hand. We have succeeded in making good, interested travelers out of our 2 (now grown) children. We both have advanced university degrees, hers a masters and mine a doctorate. Her undergrad degree is in Art History so it's like traveling with a tour guide. Mine is in History, so I cover that subject. I do all the planning for our trips which generally are about 2 weeks long. We never use a travel agent. Lately we have been fortunate to hire excellent private guides and it makes a big difference in our understanding of what we're seeing--and also in the cost of the trip. We always travel in First or Business Class on international air trips and on domestic trips of more than 2 hours, or I won't go.
