Porters Court, accessed via a security gate, is in a peaceful and tranquil setting, yet right in the heart of the west coast of Barbados. A fabulous safe, sandy beach, one of the best on the island, restaurants and bars are all a 4 minute stroll away (door to beach). The fabulous and famous Lone Star is a 5 minute walk away and they serve cocktails, breakfast, lunch and dinner. JuJus beach bar serves lunches, early suppers and sundowners and is a 4 minute walk away. Porters Court is opposite the Royal Fairmount Hotel – with its good restaurant and bar – again perfect for sundowners.
The Sandy Lane golf course is about 4 miles away and other local courses include Westmoreland and Apes Hill.
Car not essential because you can catch the local bus from a bus stop on the main road 2 minutes walk away (via private path) from Porters Court. Buses are frequent during the day and early evening and run from Speightstown in the north to Bridgetown and beyond in the south. Local buses are great fun and cheap ($2 Bbd for any distance) and will take you to most places on the island. If you decide to hire a car, the villa has its own free parking space, right outside the front door. A car can be delivered to the villa or be collected from the airport. More

Sandy Lodge is a very short stroll to a safe, sandy beach, bars and restaurants (both casual and more formal):
The famous Lone Star and The Royal Fairmont are more formal restaurants open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They both have beautiful terraces directly overlooking the beach and offer 'fine dining'. Reservations required.
JuJus is a beach bar for snacks and drinks, and is actually on the beach and your table will be on the beach. Closes early evening after sunset (about 7.00 pm).
The Top Deck restaurant (opened September 2018 by well known local chef Jason Howard - ex Connaught).
All the above are great places for a cold beer or a rum punch and most have happy hours too! They are all wonderful at sunset.
Getting around
A car is not essential as a private gated path takes you to the main road 2 minutes away. Buses run every few minutes, south to Holetown, Oistins, and Bridgetown, and north to Speightstown.
