Town: The village of Meerbrook is on the edge of a popular walking area known as the Roaches, and is just four miles from the market town of Leek. Meerbrook is a short walk away from Tittesworth reservoir, which offers many activities and has a visitor's centre. Buxton is only 12 miles away and has a wider choice of places to eat and an interesting selection of shops. The town's museum is well worth a visit as is the Opera House, with its wide variety of entertainment on offer. For thrill seekers, Alton Towers is a short drive away and has year round activities available for all ages. This area has a lot to recommend it to the visitor and makes a great holiday base.More
