In an elevated farm location where Monks Dale meets Millers Dale within a consevation area of outstanding natural beauty, on a hillside overlooking the River Wye in the heart of the National Park, this lovingly restored limestone cottage is a spacious ground level haven of peace & rustic charm. It has a double bedroom en suite with bath & shower. The fitted kitchen has full sized cooker, microwave & fridge etc. You have the use of a shared laundry. The comfortable lounge with sofa & recliner chair, 32 inch flat screen TV, DVD and free Wi-Fi has a dining area plus lovely open views over the south facing garden where the garden furniture captures the best of the sunshine all day. About the neighbourhood

The trout filled river Wye meanders through the dales between the spa town of Buxton & the old market town of Bakewell famous for it's puddings. At Buxton you can follow in the footsteps of Victorian visitors who would take the waters among the eligant architecture of the crescent then stroll in extensive gardens & take a tea dance in the magnificent glass domed ballroom or visit the beautiful old theatre. Bakewell still has an outdoor market every Monday & a host of interesting little shops just off the river where a multitude of ducks await feeding. The river travels 12 miles between the 2 towns through 5 of the most picturesque dales in the country & all can be walked using paths with foot bridges & stepping stones, or cycled using the Monsal Trail.
