Thank you for your review and kind words. We are so glad you had a lovely stay.
Pronounced Stog'ursey the village is a traditional slice of rural England.
It is an ideal base to explore Exmoor, the Quantock hills, North Devon coast and countryside.
The Quantock Hills offer excellent walking routes. Also, magnificent views over to Wales, Exmoor, Dartmoor, Mendip and Blackdown Hills. The poet Samuel Coleridge & William Wordsworth gained inspiration from the area. Coleridge lived in nearby Nether Stowey where his cottage is open to visit.
The Quantock Hills offer excellent road & mountain biking with stunning scenery. If this sounds a little too energetic there are plenty of old villages, pubs and historic towns to visit also day trips to Exmoor, Barnstable, Cheddar Gorge, the beach at Minehead & much more!!
