The open-plan living room has separate areas for dining and sitting for 6 people. The dining area balcony gets the morning sun – perfect for breakfast, the seaside balcony has the sun from late morning onwards and is the ideal place to view the magnificent sunsets with a cool glass of wine. There is a smart TV, a home cinema sound system, a DVD player, a selection of DVD's and BT Infinity wireless broadband. The kitchen has a ceramic hob with cooker hood over, electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee machine, dishwasher, washing machine, electric kettle, toaster, iron and ironing board. You will find the cupboards stocked with tea, coffee, sugar, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, washing powder and conditioner, foil and cling film. All the bedrooms have electric wall radiators. The beds are made up for your arrival with fresh, crisp linen and there is a choice of summer and winter duvets. Hand, bath and beach towels are provided. The master bedroom has patio doors opening onto a balcony overlooking the sea. It has a king sized bed and a wonderful view to wake up to! There is a smart TV, a walk-in wardrobe and hair dryer. It has an en suite with a spacious power shower, basin, wc, wall heater and heated towel rail. The second and third bedrooms both have twin beds and plenty of storage with fitted wardrobes and drawer space. The family bathroom has a bath with shower over, wc, basin, wall heater and heated towel rail. In both bathrooms you will find hand wash, shower gel, bath foam and loo rolls. There are full-length balconies on both sides of the kitchen/living area with balcony furniture and a smaller balcony for the master bedroom. The penthouse is just 40 metres from the soft, sandy beach at the mouth of the estuary of the river Loughar. The tide goes out a long way so the beach provides a large play area for children. There is a communal lawn area outside the penthouse, parking permits for 2 cars and bike storage sheds. There is a restaurant and gelateria just 4 mins walk from the penthouse. The night storage heater in the hallway is left on from Oct 1 to March 31. If you turn on any of the other wall heaters or the electric towel rails in the bathrooms please turn them off before you leave.

The lead guest must be over 21 years of age. The owners do not accept bookings from groups, or for hen and stag parties. Please leave the penthouse in a tidy condition and remove all rubbish before you leave. Smoking is not allowed in the penthouse or on the balconies. Barbecues cannot be used on the balconies. Your party must not at any time exceed the number of sleeping places, i.e. 6 plus a travel cot. Children must be supervised on the balconies at all times.

Great place with great beach views
Lovely spacious apartment, has everything you need for your stay, being located right on the beach is a plus and a great location for cycling. The balconies give you good views especially watching the sunset.

First rate, with a fabulous view across the bay
Central location for visiting what the area has to offer, Rhossilli is a great place to visit with stunning views not to far to drive.

Lovely, lovely stay
Just arrived home from a wonderful 10 day stay. The apartment is very clean and well kept with fantastic views across to the Gower which you could never get bored of. All the mod cons you would expect and a few extras thrown in, such as the PlayStation, coffee machine and board games. Played golf at both Ashburnham and Machynys and enjoyed them very much. Ashburnham is very tight with excellent greens and Machynys is beautifully contoured with great fairways. Visited Rhossili while we were there and it is definitely my most favourite beach in the world - amazing. Also cycled down to Pembrey Country Park and back which was great and spent some time in Burry Port and went for a walk around Furnace Pond. Spent an afternoon in Mumbles which has a very Mediterranean feel on a sunny day. Ate out at Brynwyn Newydd where the steaks are very nice - filet medallions with Stilton come highly recommended and also St Elli just 100 yards from the apartment. Had some food delivered and also tried out some local fish and chips- all very good. Would definitely recommend the apartment, the location and on top of all that the locals are so friendly :0)

Thank you so much for such a lovely and comprehensive review. I am so pleased that you were able to do so many things during your stay. With 17 golf courses in a 30 mile radius we are spoilt for choice but Ashburnham definitely is one of the best.

Amazing Penthouse
Just spent a week at this beautiful penthouse apartment. It is filled with luxurious bedding, towels etc which are top quality. The views out to sea are to die for despite of the weather. Fabulous shower in the en-suite and a really big bath in the family bathroom. All kitchen necessities are on hand including all the extras like cling film, foil etc. Would definitely stay again.

I am so pleased that you enjoyed the quality of everything we offer in the penthouse. I like to arrive to find all kitchen and bathroom basics there and the bedding etc is the same as we have at home. The view is constantly changing as the tide goes in and out, there is always something to watch. I would be delighted if you wanted to stay again.

Beautiful penthouse with fabulous views
This is a lovely penthouse with great views of the Gower and bay in front. It was very comfortable and spotlessly clean with everything you could possibly need. There are three balconies and two bathrooms. This is a great area to visit as you have easy access to the beaches of the Gower and also there are forests , waterfalls and hills nearby. The Milenium Coastal path runs past the penthouse and Pembrey country park is up the road. Also there are plenty of shops nearby at Trostre shopping centre which also has a Tesco and Morrison’s. I can highly recommend this apartment, you will not be disappointed.

Fabulous coastal accommodation
The penthouse is well appointed and very well looked after. Everything was clean and extremely comfortable and we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The upstairs lounge area does get quite warm on a sunny day, but the bedrooms downstairs remain nice and cool. The owners are lovely too, making it a perfect place to stay.

Who could ask for anything more ?
This was our first visit to the Gower penthouse and it was a luxury home away experience. There were more than enough supplies of everything from blankets and pillows -to tissues and teabags, to get us underway. The penthouse is a spacious home and the owners were able to provide the right amount of support. We have returned to Llanelli many times over 30 years and each visit is a delight. The people are friendly and the surrounding beaches are lovely. Although there is a great deal besides the beaches, with the castles, wetland centre, activity centres, etc.

I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay in our penthouse and found everything you needed. As it is our family holiday home we make sure it contains everything we need to start our stay there as well as providing a comfortable experience for all our guests. There is so much to do in the surrounding area regardless of the weather and new places and activities to visit are constantly popping up. The restaurant at Llanelly House will be open in the evening on Fridays and Saturdays from next weekend so we will be eating there on Saturday evening.

Top quality flat to be highly recommended
This was great. Lived up to Tripadvisor description. Clearly well loved family home, with lots of light, well equipped kitchen and a great bolt hole as we were down for a family funeral locally. Would use again.

About the neighbourhood
The beach-front in Llanelli is part of the the Millennium Coastal Park. More than 1500 acres have been given a spectacular facelift to provides 22km of beautifully restored coastline with stunning views of the Gower Peninsula and a unique park, featuring a stunning array of visitor attractions that include Pembrey Country Park, the National Wetlands Centre, an assortment of wildlife havens, an angling centre, traffic-free cycle paths, a seafront promenade and a picturesque harbour at Burry Port. The beach is just 40m from the penthouse; the tide goes out a long way so the beach provides a large and safe play area for children. Just 5 minutes drive away is the Jack Nicklaus Championship golf course at Machynys Peninsula Golf and Country Club and there are 16 other golf courses within a 30 mile radius. Llanelli has leisure centre with 2 swimming pools, a multi screen cinema and the Ffwrnes Theatre Pembrey Country Park is just a 20 minute drive from the penthouse. It has a dry ski slope, toboggan run, miniature railway, nature trails, cycling, horse riding and putting course, restaurant, plus the beautiful 7 mile blue flag beach Cefn Sidan Sands beach. Next door is the Welsh Motor Sports Centre. The National Wildlife and Wetlands Centre, Sandy Water Park, Kidwelly Castle, the National Botanic Garden of Wales, Aberglasney, Dinefwr Park and Castle, the new Ffos Las racecourse and Parc y Scarletts, new home of the Scarlett’s Rugby team are all nearby. Fishing, surfing, quad biking, mountain biking, horse riding, snooker, bowls, soft play, farm shops, shopping and excellent restaurants are all available locally. Swansea Waterfront has a spectacular water-based leisure centre with the UK’s first standing surf machine, a thrilling ride called the Master Blaster, a lazy river, waterfall, water jets and fountains – the best indoor water park around. The city of Swansea is just 20 minutes drive to the east and Carmarthen 30 minutes to the west.
Getting around
It is a 10 minute walk to the station from where trains will take you westwards to Carmarthen and beyond and eastwards to Swansea and beyond. The local bus service runs from the centre of Llanelli Town, a 25 minute walk from the penthouse. Details of taxis are on the noticeboard in the hallway.

The penthouse is situated on the South West Coast of Wales 20 minutes drive to the west of Swansea. It is 15 minutes drive from junction 47 or 48 of the M4. Directions will be emailed to all guests at the time of booking. It is a one hour drive from Cardiff International Airport. Car hire is recommended. It is a 10 minutes walk from Llanelli Station, trains from London Paddington take 3 hours 30 minutes. There are regular train and national bus services to and from Llanelli.

In the bathrooms you will find shower gel, soap and loo paper. Saturday is the preferred change over day. The penthouse is available to guests from 3pm on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 10.30am on the day of departure. Offers considered for bookings made within 2 weeks of required date. Bookings are preferred on weekly terms but shorter stays can be booked by arrangement. Bookings are made by contacting owner by phone or email. 20% deposit is payable at time of booking. Balance is due 4 weeks before date of booking together with a refundable damage bond of £150. The damage bond will be returned within 2 weeks subject to satisfactory inventory inspection and safe return of keys.
