332344 - A typical Finnish summerhouse in Southern Finland.
While travelling in Finland in July with my wife and two daughters aged 11 and 9, we wanted to not only see tourist sites but also get a feel for how a Finn would spend their summer. We stayed three days at this summer house and it was the highlight of our trip, not only to Finland, but also across Scandinavia. Our girls loved the outdoor feel of the place, just like a summer camp. There was plenty of games for them to play outside, including darts, badminton, and of course the Finnish game Molkky, in addition to riding in both the motor boat and the rowboat on the lake. The Village
Karjalohja is located in West-Uusimaa 80 km westwards from Helsinki in the city of Lohja. The area is quiet and presents an authentic countryside. In the winter time there are approximately 1500 inhabitants and in July the amount quadruples. The village is a known holiday destination with more than 1700 summer cottages. The nature is very beautiful with dozens of lakes, ponds, walnut trees and oak trees..

Description of the plot
On the island in Päiväranta cottage you can feel its natural peace. The sun lights the plot through the threes of the yard. The sun touches the pier from 10 am onward and the sauna bench from 18 o´clock onwards till late evening.
Getting around
The yard of the cottage is flat grass and from the veranda to the pier the distance is approximately 30 m. The plot has 100 m long lakeside. The bottom of the lake is hard and deepens gradually.

Puujärvi lake is 6 km long and belongs to the Natura-2000 nature protection program. The water is clear and even drinkable. The authorities control the cleanliness of the water regularly. The water in the cottage is water from the municipality’s tap water that can be found in the canisters. and there is a playhouse for the children. From the veranda to the pier the distance is approximately 30 m. The plot has 100 m long lakeside. The bottom of the lake is hard and deepens gradually.
