Birch Cottage and Beech Cottage are self catering holiday cottages, centrally located in the heart of the picturesque village of Hartington, which is an ideal base from which to explore the Peak District National Park. The self catering holiday cottages are approximately 200 yards from the local village shops, Post Office and Inns.The cottages are 3 storey adjacent stone cottages. Convenient for couples and families to book one cottage, and ideal for larger groups to book both the cottages.Sorry no bookings for hen/stag/house parties, if booked you will be asked to leave upon arrival with no refund of monies paid.Each cottage has a lawned garden, at the front, with table and chairs and BBQ. About the neighbourhood
The cottages are conveniently placed in Hartington within walking distance of the local inns and village stores.. Hartington is a lovely village and has a number of shops for you to 'potter' around, or you can rest by the village pond and take in the ambiance of the village.

A visit to the church of St Giles is a must, and there is a permanent display in the Village Hall of old village photographs and history.
Getting around
Transport links are not good in this area. There is a local bus that runs each day throughout the day from Buxton to Ashbourne and return. This stops in the village at the following times:

There is an off road car parking space for one vehicle, but thee is ample room on the quiet adjacent side road. The nearest railway stations if travelling from the South are Chesterfield, Derby, Stoke on Trent or Matlock. Chesterfield is 21 miles away, Stoke on Trent is 22 miles, Matlock is 10 miles and Derby is 26 miles, all approximately. If travelling from the North it is Buxton or Macclesfield, Buxton is 10 miles away and Macclesfield is 15 miles. The nearest airports are Manchester 33 miles, and East Midlands 40 miles.
