This is a truly lovely house, very Spanish and full of charm and character. We have refurbished it with style and filled it with lovely furniture, some modern and some antique, with Moroccan and Spanish influences. The house sits in half an acre of cyprus, olive and almond trees stretching across three terraces. On the lower terrace, partly secluded by trees and shrubs, is the 9m (30ft) swimming pool with spacious stone terrace, perfect for sunbathing or relaxing in the shade. There are sun loungers and umbrellas but for most of the day there is shade in one perfect spot, under the old olive tree. The trees are mature and give much needed shade, but the oleanders, lilies and lantana lift everything with brilliant colours. The large, bright living room at the front of the house leads straight onto the pool terrace through the french windows. There's a large comfortable sofa and armchairs so you can relax and watch the kiddies playing by the pool. It's all open plan and at the far end of the room, by the kitchen, there's a dining table (seating 10). The open plan family kitchen is well equipped for a large group with generous work surfaces, breakfast bar, a large larder cupboard and plenty of room to cook in comfort while others are just across the room watching the large screen smart TV. POOL: The 9m (30 ft) pool is stunning with a backdrop of huge skies and the Contra Viesa mountains. The pool is very private with a large terrace stretching around two sides and many green shrubs and trees forming a soft foreground to the mountains. It's 360' perfect! The whole pool area is south facing and gets loads of sun and is always a big hit with guests who often hurry back from trips to relax here until dusk. There are sun loungers, table and umbrella, and always a shady area under the generous olive tree. FOUR BEDROOMS: There are two large L-shaped bedroom suites, both with a curtained area for privacy, both with ensuite bathrooms. ROJO, or Bedroom Suite 1, leads off the living room and also has access into the sun lounge which doubles up as bedroom 4 (if required). AZUL, or Bedroom Suite 2, features french windows leading into the private back garden, this bedroom is at the back of the house and has access to two patios where you can relax in the sun or shade. Both bedroom suites have room for a couple and two children, there's also a cot for baby (optional). Bedroom 3 has a comfy double bed and is next to the house bathroom. Next to this is Bedroom 4 which has one single bed (with an option for two) this room also overlooks the pool at the front of the house, it has large windows with curtains for privacy. The house sleeps 11 with some sharing and can comfortably accommodate young children sharing with Mum and Dad or grandparents. All the rooms in the house have fans, with two in the large bedroom suites. GARDENS: There are several garden areas starting with the entrance gravel garden with paths and fountain, the pool is surrounded by gardens and finally there's a large very private back garden accessed from the pool and also via french windows in bedroom suite 2. DISCOUNT: The house is suitable for two families or a large group of close friends, we can at a stretch sleep 12, but if you are a family or group of six or less, make this clear and we will offer you a 10% reduction. About the neighbourhood
Orgiva is in the Alpujarra Valley which is an area renowned for its natural beauty. We are 35 mins drive from the Costa Del Sol, the nearest beach is at Motril. There are many beautiful beaches and interesting resorts including Almunecar (Jazz Festival in mid July) La Herradura, and Nerja which has several beaches.Orgiva itself is a charming working/market town with all the necessary amenities including supermarkets, banks and a hospital. There are many bars and restaurants and the towns central Plaza really buzzes at night, so theres plenty to do until the early hours, including two discos. The Alpujarra Valley is famous for its mountain walks and the three highest villages in Spain are half an hours drive from Orgiva, Capill is one of Spains prettiest villages. There is horse riding, hang gliding and bikes for hire
