Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Having visited over Easter 2012, it was somewhere the kids were really keen to go back to, so we returned for another week long stay over Easter 2016. This time our friends joined us and stayed in the cottage next door. We had another great stay - the owners are very friendly and welcoming - freshly baked cakes and chocolate bunnys greeted us on arrival. The kids enjoyed collecting hens' eggs, feeding the pigs, stroking the calves, lambs and horse, playing with the sheepdogs, but the highlight had to be feeding and playing with the 6 sheepdog puppies. They also just loved the freedom of being able to run around the farm, flying kites and fishing in the small lake. There is loads to do in the area - so much that we still haven't done everything over 2 x week stays. This time we visited some National Trust places, spent a day at Gullivers World theme park and hired a canal boat for the day.

My husband and I stayed here with our son, daughter-in-law and two granddaughters, and there was plenty of room for us all. Stayed here for 5 nights and found the accommodations warm and comfortable, especially if one lights the log burning fireplace, which we did for one evening. Cottage roomy enough to also host additional family members (4) for the evening. Cottage located on a working farm which meant that sausages, bacon, eggs and preserves were available to purchase (they were delicious) On one occasion, our granddaughters collected the eggs for our brekky. Close enough to pubs, restaurants and shopping, and the historic city of Chester only 10 miles away. A bonus for longer stays, the owner provides laundry facilities, free of charge. Would stay here again

Our hosts were very helpful and have created an idyllic hideaway with spectacular views of open farmland. The accommodation is very spacious and well thought out. We certainly plan to repeat our visit next year.

Our second visit to this excellent Farm for the Lambing. We visited for the weekend with our daughter, her husband and our two grandchildren -aged 12 & 10. The Millers House is terrific with a Master bedroom + en suite, a double room and a twin room with family bathroom, a well equiped kitchen and comfortable lounge c/w central heating and log fire. Beside the sheep the farm a range of livestock and equipment giving plenty to do for all ages - the children loved it. The owners were very friendly and helpful and were only too pleased to let us help with anything around the farm including the actual lambing and feeding. A great break for us all.

Thank you for a great stay. As you know we had a problem with the location (so thank you for amending map) however whilst the location was not right for our trip (we were visiting family) the standard of accommodation is superb. Loved the scrummy chocolate cake - a wonderful welcome. My Dad loved the bacon we brought back. Would definitely share details of your accommodation with others. Thanks again.

Just come back from a week staying in The Millers House. We all agreed that we enjoyed everything about Millmoor Farm. We had a lovely welcome when we arrived and the Victoria sponge waiting for us in the cottage was a lovely touch. The cottage was spacious and well equipped - beds were very comfy, constant hot water - everything we could have asked for was there. Had great views of the surrounding country side from the sitting room and bedroom & could sit and watch the sheep, lambs, geese, goslings - hear the owls and wood peckers. Chickens wondered in and out of the garden & we could check out the other farm animals including the calves and piglets. The local pub The Wheatsheaf in No Mans Heath is about half a mile away & easily walkable. It might not look the best of places but they serve very good food & were so friendly. Well worth a visit. The Cholomondey Arms about 3 miles away also served very good food in an unusual setting. Plenty of places within easy reach - Chester is about 12 miles away, Jodrell Bank & the Peak district about an hours drive and the Welsh coast/Snowdonia about the same. Plenty to see and do but it was also so nice to come back to the cottage and see what was happening because there was always something to see. Loved every minute of our stay & will be telling everyone about it.

Stayed in the Millers House over Easter holidays with our 2 children age 5 and 2. The cottage was very spacious, clean, well equipped and had lovely views over the surrounding sheep fields. The owners are very friendly and helpful and our children loved collecting chickens' eggs and bottle feeding the lambs. There are a few things to visit within about 20 mins, Cholmodersley Castle has lovely grounds, there is the icecrean farm with soft play and Chester is easy to get to on the park and ride. A bit further afield are loads of great National Trust places - Chirk Castle, Tatton Hall, Lime Park - we filled our week in easily. All in all we had a great time and will likely go back when the 2 year old is a bit bigger and can appreciate it more.

We have stayed at The Millers Cottage for 3 years now, and have just had our 4th stay! The cottage is just perfect to relax in luxury. We are a family with 2 teenage children, who already want to book another holiday back there! The views are brilliant, as is the location. There are so mant attractions near by, for family days out, then back to the cottage light the woodstove, open the wine and order the take away. Or walk to the local pub! Sally Ann, David and family are very helpful and friendly, which always helps as they know the area well. I can't wait for our next visit already

About the neighbourhood
Malpas is a lovely little town just minutes from Millmoor Farm. It is set high up on a sandstone ridge with a picturesque church and castle mound. There are great views over the Dee Valley into Wales, Cheshire and Shropshire, just yards from the High Street. There is a newsagent, post office and town small supermarkets (both stay open until 10pm), plus a farmshop, bank, café, restaurants, pubs, gift shops, pet shop, electrical shops and grill works. Millmoor Farm is also on the Marches Way footpath and we have even designed two circular walks to do on our farm. The sandstone trail is about a mile away and we are also situated just off the Cheshire Cycle Route. There are several National Trust properties to discover in the area, including Erddig and Little Moreton Hall. However, the ...
