Farmhouse
This traditional, organic farmhouse, built of stones around 1890, has recently been completely restored. It occupies a quiet, secluded and elevated coastal location over Collorus Harbour and Kenmare Bay. The guests have a patio facing the sea, a flower and herb garden. It is friendly for toddlers. This is an organic farm where the owner grows flowers, herbs and vegetables and keeps hens. Smoking is allowed on the patio. All front windows have a sea and mountain view. You can enjoy the spectacular sea views while cooking, dining, sitting by the fire, in bed or even lying in the bath! It is a perfect romantic retreat with ever changing sea and hill views. The seashore and beach for safe swimming are 200 meters away. The Beara Way runs parallel to the house. Perfect homely cottage with the most amazing views even from the bath! So peaceful and quiet - an ideal place to relax. We had fantastic weather - no rain and enjoyed many walks in this most beautiful place in Ireland.

About the neighbourhood
Collorus Point/Lauragh is a hilly peninsula with a sheltered harbour, on the north coast of the Beara Peninsula, close to the Kerry/Cork border, on the WILD ATLANTIC WAY. Derreen Gardens and woods, Glanmore and Cloonee Lakes, Gleninchiquin waterfall, Ring of Beara, the Healy Pass leading to Glengarriff, Castletownbere, Allihies and Dursey Island are all nearby. Beara is an extremely scenic area with pretty villages and stunning sea views around every corner. The area is ideal for walking, water sports, touring, golfing and fishing. You can step into the Beara Way (206 km walking trail) near the house. Boat trips organised from Kenmare. There are many archeological sites nearby. Lovely cafés and pub with food and music are available locally.
Getting around
Collorus Point is remote and you will need a car to travel. Some guests bring their bicycles and explore Beara cycling. Others prefer to walk. There are many options on Beara. Cannoeing is also an option!
