Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

What a location, breath taking views from the cottage overlooking the Culdaff strand and beyond, the cottage is beautifully decorated, cosy and warm, even though there was snow on the ground, having said that my car was unable to make it up to the house with the snow ❄️ and ice, no problem Alan was there to tow me up with his Tractor. Excellent spot to explore Inishowen, would I stay here again.. YES. Thank you Alan and Jennifer and the doggies for a lovely stay. Terry, Anne and June.

excellent accomodation
well this little cottage exceeded our expectations. Alan had the fire lit before we arrived so it was nice and cosy, he then called to show us everything we needed to know and gave advice on the little beaches etc that where around us. This was the best holiday home weve stayed in so far and will be back in the summer to make great use of the beaches and walks. absolutely perfect.

Feels just like Kate Winslet’s cottage in ‘The Holiday’
This was our second time staying here. Both times have been extremely pleasant. No complaints at all. Hosts are very friendly and the house is always cosy and warm...exactly what you want for a holiday in Ireland!

Excellent
A modern & spotlessly clean cottage in a beautiful setting. I couldn’t fault it. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in a beautiful part of the country. I would stay there again without hesitation.

No better a place then here
A fantastic stay in a beautiful house. The fire was lit on arrival, so there was an instant home comfort. A short drive from culdaff village.views of the sea from one window, and chickens and sheep from another window. A total Donegal cottage experience. Highly recommended.

About the neighbourhood
Culdaff is small village set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, rich in history, with origins dating back to monastic times in the 8th century. A river runs past the village, which transforms into a tidal estuary rich in wildlife, before reaching the beautiful sandy Culdaff beach. Despite its small population of approx 200 people, the village has two grocery stores, a petrol station, post office and hardware store, along with several pubs, takeways and a restaurant.

A short walk from the village is the famous Culdaff beach, a long stretch of golden sand from Caratra to Bunagee which is very popular in summertime with swimmers, surfers and daytrippers. This blue flag beach also hosts a childrens playground and has good car parking facilities.

The Inishowen Peninsula has lots to offer: stunning scenery, beautiful beachs, famous golf courses and rich cultural heritage. Davenport's Cottage is ideal for visiting local attractions such as Malin Head, Ballyliffin Golf Course, Trabreaga Bay, Grianan of Aileach, Bushmills Distillery and Glenveagh National Park.
