About the neighbourhood
The Rye Bay area and west towards Hastings is ideally suited for guests looking to visit NT and EH properties, country house and gardens such as Great Dixter, historical sites, ancient Cinque Port towns, and picturesque villages. The coast is only approximately 4.5 miles away at Winchelsea Beach, and slightly further east is Camber Sands with its dunes and beautiful beach, and The Hastings Country Park with its dramatic cliff top walks, to the west. The local area is criss-crossed with public footpaths as well as the well-known 1066 way-marked walk.
Getting around
Being close to the A259 makes getting to places very easy, and although it's preferable to have car the 100 bus service between Hastings and Rye (and beyond) runs through the village. There are also taxi companies that we recommend based at both towns, and bike hire is also available in Rye and Hastings during the summer season.
