One of the best preserved stretches of Hadrian's Wall is only a mile to the north with various museums, forts and milecastles to be seen.More

I stayed in the second floor flat which was advertised as the Drovers Rest. It was a lovely, clean and well equipped flat which was ideally located for exploring Hadrians Wall, the North Pennines and the surrounding countryside.
