Casa Estrella (the star house) is a lovingly restored holiday home perched high in the heart of the historical centre of Salobreña. It is a traditional Spanish neighbourhood and is full of narrow winding streets lined with many colourful plants.
The house has amazing views of the sea, mountains and across the old town to the Moorish castle and church from the huge terrace which is the ideal place to relax and enjoy Spanish life.
Casa Estrella is a traditional Spanish home and has been extensively restored and modernised in 2016/17. Lots of character has been added and good quality fixtures and fittings installed for the comfort of guests including air conditioning in all bedrooms and living room and fast WIFI available throughout the house. We make every effort to personally meet and greet all guests upon arrival and will show you around the house and explain how to use everything! We provide telephone and email contacts so that you can get in touch with us during your stay if necessary. However we do not live in salobreña and will not be present for the duration of your stay, apart from in emergency situations.

About the neighbourhood
Here in the old town of salobrena, you are in the historic heartland. We have an abundance of character and charm, narrow streets and plant lined streets.
Within a couple of minutes walk we have 5 bar / restaurants, 2 small supermarkets, a couple of small galleries, artisan shop, bakers, hairdresser and jeweller.
We have a small local museum and of course the castle which is well worth a visit and the views are amazing.
Much larger supermarkets and shops can be found in the main commercial town centre down the hill as well as lots of bars, restaurants and of course the beach is just a 15 minute walk away too.....
Getting around
If you don't fancy driving, a local urban bus service connects the old town with the commercial centre during shop opening times (mon-fri 9-2, 5-8 plus Saturday mornings). Bus stops are marked on local maps available in the house.
To travel further afield Granada can be reached in around an hour (book in advance for the alhambra!), other places of interest include the Sierra Nevada mountain range (skiing in winter), the alpujarras and lots of beautiful beaches along the coastline.

How to get there
Airport: Malaga Airport: 100.0 km
The nearest airports are Malaga and Granada, both around a 1 hour drive away. Car hire is recommended although not essential as the bus network is good, cheap and reliable.
The drive up the hill to the house is steeper than you may be used to, but is perfectly do-able in all cars. Parking is normally available at around 200m from the house, although in August it can get a bit busy.
We are happy to provide suggested routes to negotiate the hill get you here safe and sound.
