Historic, charming and private one bedroom apartment in a classic creole cottage double house located in Mid-City, the heart of New Orleans. The floor plan (approx. 800 sq. ft.) is a typical style “shotgun” with the historic elements including wide-plank hardwood floors, 12’ ceilings with picture rail wall molding, antique doors and mantels, and local artwork throughout. The apartment has many recent renovations and updates with local style and creative décor while keeping the architectural aspects to help you feel like you are living like a local while enjoying your visit to New Orleans!

Whenever possible, we will meet you upon your arrival for check-in and make sure you are comfortable with the apartment. We will answer any questions you have about amenities or your stay in New Orleans as well as help with recommendations for activities and dining in the neighborhood and around the city. A guide of local information and tourist brochures are available in the apartment. Please do not hesitate to ask us in advance of your arrival if you have special needs or want to be sure items are stocked or available for purchase. We can usually make arrangements to assist with advance needs and shopping or other special requests.

About the neighbourhood
The house is located at the crossroads of two wonderful neighborhoods referred to as Mid-City and City Park. Mid-City, which is known as the 'heart of New Orleans' is a place where locals live as a neighborhood rather than just an area of New Orleans. It is a place filled with a community spirit that resonates with its residents old and new. Mid-City has become the new, revitalized and young neighborhood of New Orleans and is attracting young professionals from all over the country who have recently relocated to New Orleans working in the medical fields. With the nearby addition of shopping centers and restaurants, Whole Foods, expansion of City Park attractions and the construction of the new Veterans Affairs Hospital to be completed in 2016, Mid-City is the place to be!

Our property is easily accessed from the I-10 City Park/Metairie Road exit or I-610 Canal exit. We are about 15-20 minutes from the New Orleans airport, bus station and Amtrak rail. Nearby are convenient public transportation stops within 6 blocks to either the Canal streetcar lines or the nearby bus lines supported by the RTA.

Renters have access to our bicycles and will enjoy the nearby new Lafitte Greenway biking path. Taxis and Uber are also available in New Orleans.

The property features residential off-street parking as well as a place for one car parked parallel in the back of the garage area.
