We have refurbished this fabulous old building using local craftsmen. The building was originally a national school for many years from 1884. It then became a post office and shop for over 40 years. The result of this refurbishment is a comfortable and spacious holiday home that is full of character. There are fabulous views of the sea at the front and views of the mountains at the rear of the property
There is a new fully equipped spacious and modern kitchen as well as a separate hall with wood burner which is a great space for entertaining. (The hall measures c. 8 metres by 7 metres and is 6 metres in height). It is very close to the Urhan Pub (less than 100 metres) so you can wander down for a pint of Guinness or a glass of wine and take in the breathtaking views of Coulagh bay. There are lots of things to do in the local area and the local village of Eyeries is approximately 3 miles away with a shop, restaurant and other amenities. It is around 10 miles from the busy fishing village of Castletownbere. There is table tennis and badminton for the hall and a netball net for outside as well as fabulous walks in the local area. After all that activity you can enjoy the peace and tranquillity in front of one of the Woodburning stoves in either the kitchen or main hall. There is a washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, microwave and large electric range for feeding large groups. The property would be ideal for large family or group as well as for 2 families as there are separate sleeping areas in different sides of the property. For the musical among you there is also an electric piano which we would encourage you to play. The property sleeps 14 comfortablyMore
Please limit number of guests to 14 people maximum unless agreed in writing beforehand with Daniel and Mary. We don't want to overcrowd the house so we can maintain comfort and space
Dogs are welcome in The Old Post Office but please can you try to keep them out of the bedrooms as well as upstairs. Please make sure woodburners or fires have died down and are closed before you leave. Many thanks. Daniel and Mary
