Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.

We've stayed with Avoriaz Chalets for multiple years now, and our favourite of their properties has got to be Chalet Ardoisière. It's welcoming, modern alpine interior, fully equipped modern kitchen (a rarity we've found with other rentals), and its lounge - great for spending evenings together as a family playing games or watching a film - all lend themselves to this incredibly homely chalet But something that really makes this chalet special is its views of the mountain - situated by the la Falaise, it has the most amazing uninterrupted views, at any time of day, although catching the sunsets are particularly mesmerising. What's even more incredible though, is enjoying a spectacular sunset in the heart of the Alps, whilst unwinding in their outdoor hot tub at the end of the day - it doesn't really get any better than that! I would absolutely recommend Avoriaz Chalets (and Chalet Ardoisière) to anyone wishing a spectacular holiday, with Nikki, Philip & the team always available to offer a helpful hand with every stage of our holiday, I can't wait to return again!

Every time we come up to Avoriaz is like the first time, its magic, the atmosphere, the snow, the horse carriages, the lights on the trees. its something you have to experience personally, it's hard to describe it in words. Been coming up for almost 9 years now and will keep it up. Avoriaz Chalets is the best choice because the properties are self catered, ski in ski out, luxury alpine accommodations. Clean, up to date appliances, fibre optics internet connection, amazing mattresses, clean cosy bathrooms and everything is in walking distance...what else can you ask for? seriously what else can you ask for? good weather and good snow but ok lets face it...it out of the owners hands ahahah if during the stay you need anything at all the staff is just a whatsapp message away, they can sort out your lift passes, your ski hire and if you need it they will find you a babysitter...I just call that top service.

This well-appointed luxury chalet is in the perfect location for a ski break in Avoriaz. Simply ski-in, ski-out every morning/afternoon, it's close enough to the bakery and shops for your morning criossants, and it's just far enough away from the bars and discos so that you can enjoy the peace! As a group of 8 we had the most fantastic week here, and absolutely everything we needed was pre-arranged and supplied. Nikki and her team sorted out our airport transfers, lift passes and ski hire, so that we had the most seamless experience possible, and the chalet is truly like a home-from-home. The gorgeously warm hot tub is the icing on the cake, and this was VERY well used (and appreciated!) after a long day on the slopes. The heated boot room was a godsend as we had such mixed weather (rain, sleet, snow ... and some sun!), so being able to thoroughly dry and warm our kit and store it in the lobby became a really important feature for us - something we hadn't really considered before the holiday. We couldn't recommend Chalet Ardoisieres or Avoriaz Chalets highly enough.

It is most gratifying to read your very kind review - particularly as I was away that week and left all the work to Nikki and the team. Chalet Ardoisiere is our blue ribband property and we will be doing our very best to maintain its standard and facilities. Your review can only encourage us in this.

Thank you for such a seamless week; the chalet, transfers, ski hire and hospitality were all perfect. The team were constantly on hand to help with restaurant bookings and find (excellent!) babysitters for us at short notice. The chalet is perfect for two families of four, with equal sized bedrooms, loads of storage and there are lots of lovely luxury touches like toiletries and robes (even little ones for the kids!) Loved it - will be booking again!

Thank you for your review and for mentioning the Extras help we provided. We do like to be able to help guests with their arrangements and, in particular, have people's ski passes waiting for them in the accommodation - nobody wants to spend the first hour of their holiday queuing for passes. We are delighted that you were so pleased and look forward to welcoming you back.

Our party of 8 had a wonderful week in this chalet. Easy ski-in, ski-out access to the pistes and a large hot tub and sauna to relax in after a day on the slopes. Location is excellent, close to ski shops in Falaise, a short walk into the centre of the resort and with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be returning.

A warm welcome began the start of a wonderful experience. With an unbeatable location overlooking the valley, there is just something special about relaxing in the hot tub, watching the sun go down over the Alps! The Avoriaz Chalets team were brilliant and extremely friendly The chalet is very modern and up to date with fittings, whilst being able to remain extremely homely and cosy, and the little touches such as the instant boiling water tap just add that extra element of practicality (especially after coming home from a day’s skiing, with all of us needing a hot cup of tea!). Highly recommended to anyone wanting to look for a holiday to remember!

Thank you for your review and for highlighting some of the advantages of Chalet Ardoisiere. It is one of the few chalets in Avoriaz with a private, outside hot tub and has amazing views over the slopes. It was a pleasure to host you.

This is my first Trip Advisor review because it was truly the best holiday we've been on and was seamless from start to finish and we owe it to Avoriaz Chalets for the attention and care we received and their unbelievable service. The least we can do to say thank you. Firstly we arrived in Geneva Airport with our transfer van taking all 8 of us straight to Avoriaz where Nikki met us and showed us to the chalet, which was a few minutes away, and gave us our ski passes she'd bought before our arrival so no ski time would be wasted- totally unexpected and amazing. The location is central and everything is within walking distance, perfect for getting around if your legs are tired after skiing. There is a quintessential bakery a stone throw's away meaning we could quickly get freshly baked croissants and French pastries in the morning for breakfast. Next to the bakery is the ski shop which has a special relationship with Avoriaz Chalets so we got an unexpected discount. There are plenty of good restaurants next to the chalet as well as a supermarket for when we wanted to dine in. You step out of the chalet onto a piste which is on a slight decline so stepping out onto your skis first thing was brilliant. After skiing there's a large area to keep your skis and plenty of heated racks to dry our boots and gloves- handy (no pun intended) as there was 8 of us. The chalet has its own private outdoor jacuzzi which can't be seen by neighbours and overlooks the mountains which are lit up at night along with many christmas trees in the centre. It was heavenly, not only if we were tired, but having the snow fall around us or in the sun was just blissful. It lights up in fun colours so we used it at night, too. There's also a sauna which has a spacious shower attached. The decor of the chalet is idyllic, yet all the facilities are clearly recently renovated with everything working. My favourite part was the tap which had boiling water. Out of children's reach and perfect for packing flasks of hot choccy/tea for drinking out on the slopes. The couch was also so comfy we often woke up having dozed off happily on it. It's the snuggliest couch. Although not as good as our own jacuzzi but still fun for kids, Aquariaz is visible from and close to the chalet. I also recommend asking Nikki about the off the radar fondue restaurant which you have to sledge to in the evening to get to it! What really blew our minds was New Year's Eve and we hope to come back next year in addition to Easter. Nikki had recommended and booked a restaurant on our behalf prior to our arrival, which was absolutely perfect. There were a few courses, including lobster, and after midnight there was a dance floor for everyone. We've never been on a holiday and had to put in as little effort we did, Nikki and her team truly went above and beyond. As for the skiing, the snow is amazing this year and I implore anyone who can to go! We frequently ski as a family all over Europe and were surprised at the wide range and number of pistes available in the Avoriaz region. There's something for all levels and the best off-piste we've come across so we were immensely happy and recommend the region highly. It's also cheap to go on a horse-drawn carriage compared to other places, so my little ones were delighted. Nikki also left little somethings under the decorated Christmas tree that awaited us so again, thank you! I cannot express how great the service was. The Avoriaz Chalets team picked up the phone whenever we rang, and were always there for us without being intrusive or overbearing. Nikki speaks several languages so sorted something we wanted to do in Geneva after our trip on the phone - unbelievable. We mentioned we wanted to go sledging and they provided us with some for the kids. For a mother who's used to doing everything and managing it all, I haven't felt this relaxed and stress-free in a long time. Many many thanks.

Wow, what a wonderful review and your covering the resort in such detail is extremely helpful to potential guests. You and your family were a delight to host and we are very keen to assist our guests with restaurants, fondue sledging evenings and the full range of snow sports so that people can really appreciate all that Avoriaz has to offer. Needless to say, we will be delighted to see you, and your lovely family, back in Avoriaz. Best wishes Avoriaz Chalets
