The Old Forge Pumphouse was originally built in 1939. In 2006 it was completely renovated in a modern style. The holiday accommodation is in an adjoining annexe to the owner’s home. The property sits in a two acre plot with river frontage (Gwendraeth Fach). The classy apartment has a modern feel; it sleeps 2 people comfortably.The local town of Kidwelly, with its castle, many pubs and food outlets is nearby. Brechfa Forest and the Brecon Beacons are within easy driving, as well as the market town of Carmarthen, Llanelli, Pembrey Country Park, Swansea and Gower. Kidwelly offers many attractions. The medieval castle and old priory church are in the centre of town, whilst the industrial museum is just outside at Mynddygarreg. The yearly carnival is held in July, whilst the castle offers medieval attractions during July and August. For the walkers there is the Millenium coastal path and plenty of footpaths in the area.

By car: One hour from Cardiff Wales airport; one and a quarter hour from the Severn Bridge; One hour from the Rosslare to Pembroke Ferry terminal.

By rail: Fast and frequent services to Swansea then regular train stops at stations throughout Carmarthen to include Kidwelly.

Leave M4 at Junction 49 and follow the signs for Carmarthen (A48). At the roundabout just outside Carmarthen turn left - signposted to Burry Port and Kidwelly (A484). Keep on the A484 for around 7 miles, you will pass a road sign for Llandefaelog (on the left) - keep going pass another road junction on the left around 3/4 mile after - again keep going.
