How to get there
If arriving from the East, i.e from England, or London, the M4 motorway serves the easiest route into South Wales. Take the M4 Junction 24, onto the A449 heading north towards Monmouth (sign posted for Monmouth). Alternatively, for a slower, more scenic route into the Wye Valley, take Junction 21 off the M4 and proceed onto the M48. Journey over the river Severn via the 'old' Severn bridge, and exit the M48 at Junction 2, taking the A466 north bound towards Chepstow. From here, follow signs for Monmouth, staying on the A466, and follow this beautiful road all the way into Monmouth. You'll drive right along side the River Wye and pass through Tintern, (look out for the Tintern Abbey on your right!)
