Very well equipped with great information pack provided by the host. However, very damp throughout including bedding, furniture etc. Wet good location for entire coastline and mountains.

Saw this property advertised so booked from Friday to Sunday. Had everything we needed.. Plenty of hot water, tv, DVD’s, table/chairs and bbq outside. Nice communal area... pet friendly and the neighbours I met were very friendly... Only downside we were inundated with ants probably...More

Very glad you had such a good time. The weather has been astonishing and I agree with you, it's too hot to sit in the car and Harlech has so many beatific places to visit you don't really need to go anywhere by car. Sorry...More

About the neighbourhood
The area around Harlech contains a vast number of interesting places to visit. The slate mines at Llanfair a couple of miles along the road and a larger version in what was once the slate capital of the world at Blaenau Ffestiniog allow you to see the vast scale on which slate was mined in this area and the skilful way in which the product was manipulated to produce the roofing material that was exported around the world.

Steam train enthusiasts love the area with the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways both running a spectacular and mountainous route to adjoining places of interest from their base at Porthmadog. On a smaller scale, the Fairbourne Railway plies a coastal route from the village out onto the dunes.

Barnmouth and Porthmadog are bustling towns with lots of shops, cafes, r...

Getting around
Harlech train station is a short distance from the flat and there's a bus route from the village however, it's a rural area and services tend to be infrequent. Guests who are intending to use public transport should check online in advance of booking their stay to make sure that they can get to where they want.

How to get there
Airport: Lpl/Mcr: 120.0 km
Railway: Harlech: 1.0 km
Ferry: Holyhead : 80.0 km
North Wales is now served by the A55 which is a very well maintained dual carriageway running from the end of the M56 all the way along the top coast of North Wales, turning at Conwy and running down to Bangor before crossing the Bont Britannia and going on Anglesey and across to Holyhead and the ferryport.

The route further south is characterised by good fast roads and in many instances there are bypasses around the towns.

A train service runs direct from Birmingham to Harlech.

Trains from the north are more problematic because of the mountains but from Chester you can get to Blaenau Ffestiniog or Caernarfon and there are bus routes from there to Harlech.
