Bayview is a 2 bedroom terraced house overlooking Craignure Bay on the Island of Mull. The house looks out to sea, from the back of the property. There is a private garden back and front. Mull has a great variety of wildlife - white tail sea eagles, otters, deer, etc. The house is within walking distance of the ferry terminal (for the Oban ferry). There is no internet in the house. The Isle of Mull hotel, which is a 5 minute walk away, houses the local swimming pool which is open to non-residents - check with hotel for opening times. If eating at the hotel booking is advisable. Mull Eagle Watch (MEW) is run by the RSPB and a visit can be booked at the VisitScotland office next to the pier in Craignure or online. Good location, really enjoyed our visit to this beautiful island, we saw a sea eagle fishing at Loch Buie.” 'This is our second holiday staying in this very comfortable house, clean and tidy with great views from back of the house.' We usually meet new guests to Bayview but on occasions this is not possible, there is a coded key box for these occasions. No trip to Mull would be complete without a trip to Iona or a visit to the nest sites of the white tailed sea eagle. Organised visits to the eagle’s nest sites are booked via the tourist information office which is situated beside the ferry terminal at Craignure. Another highlight is a boat trip to the Treshnish Islands to see the nesting puffins in spring and early summer, check with the boat operator, Turus Mara, that the birds are still nesting before booking. Turns Mara also runs tour to the world famous Fingal’s cave on Staff.

Home from home

"Perfect in all respects for any type of holiday in Mull."

Perfect location for the car-free traveller

From this very pleasing terraced 1970 cottage you can walk along a pretty seashore path to the well-stocked shop by the ferry. From near the cottage you can catch a bus to Tobermoray or, from by the ferry, one to get you to Iona or...More

About the neighbourhood
Craignure is a village and the main ferry port on the Isle of Mull. The village is located around Craignure Bay, on Mull’s east coast. It has a population of roughly 200 people. There is a shop incorporating the Post Office and the fuel pumps, a garage, the Craignure Inn, coffee shops - Arlene’s and Blethers - and the Isle of Mull Hotel which houses a swimming pool - which is open to the public. Close to the village is Duart Castle. There is also a Visit Scotland Tourist Information office in Craignure beside the ferry terminal. There is a 9-hole golf course just outside the village (1 mile along the road to Tobermory).
Getting around
Bus services from Craignure (leaving from the ferry terminal) to both Tobermory (North) and Fionnphort, for Iona (South) run regularly throughout the day run by West Coast Motors, check their website for timetables. The Tobermory bus stops at the bus stop at the end of the Java road. Craignure is served by good bus links both north and south but to fully appreciate the remoter parts a car would be very useful.
