PET OWNERS. We are more than happy to accept well behaved dogs and understand that the majority of owners treat the property as we would ourselves. However it is necessary to add the following rules. We provide covers for the leather couches if your PET is likely to go up on them. They are located in the cupboard in the front hall. The bathroom and en-suite wet room should NOT be used to wash dogs. The hose outside that can be used if required. Any deep clean required will be charged

We had a very comfortable stay and would recommend the house. (Only knocked a point off because we got told off twice for accidentally parking the car slightly too close to the front door, which was stressful!)More

About the neighbourhood
Bowmore is the capital of Islay and is the main shopping centre for the island. Within a 5 minute walk from Mo Dachaidh you will find the Co-op grocery store, butcher, chemist, restaurants, gift and coffee shops as well as 3 hotels with bars and restaurants. The famous Bowmore Distlley, with its excellent visitor centre is located in School Street just of the Main Street next to the swimming pool. Bowmore, situated in the centre of the island is an ideal base for exploring the whole island, and whatever direction, distillery, beach or historic site, is just a short car journey away.
Getting around
The bus stops are less than a 5minute walk from the property, both located in Main Street outside the Co-op going south to Port Ellen, Laphroig, Lagavulin and Ardbeg. On the opposite side of Main Street the bus stop for Port Askaig to the north end or round Lochindaal to Bruichladdich, Port Charlotte and Portnahaven. Please note that during the school term these routes the bus stop can be from the local school at certain times so please check the bus timetable. We would, however, recommend sightseeing the Island by car as the buses only run to the main villages. For visitors without their own transport, there is the option to hire a car, hire a taxi or book a private tour for a day offered by all the taxi companies
