Fantastic place to stay, with lovely welcome touches, including champagne, chocolates and flowers in the rooms. Fantastic view out to sea and Burgh Island. The pool and cafe are excellent with really friendly helpful staff. Great large TV and wifi keeps all happy and parking a doddle. All in all highly recommended.

Having spent some 30 years travelling to France to get away from rip off Britain and used to paying around £450 a week for a lovely three bedroomed gite my wife wanted to visit Devon for two weeks and put her feet up instead of driving large distances from Norfolk.

On arriving there was a box of chocolates and a bottle of fizzy and the rooms were clean with an amazing modern shower room plus all the modern gadgets in the apartment and fresh flowers in the rooms.
My son found his room very comfortable and our bed was slightly on the soft side but no problem for the two weeks we stayed there.

My wife settled down and was busy reading her books looking across the sea to the island and teenage son joined the local surfboard classes just a few hundred feet away. I came down later and had fun parking my motorcycle as Chelsea Tractors were parking so close I could not get to the centre stand to move the bike on the left hand side. Tried moving it into a corner by the...

The Burgh Island area really is beautiful, and the wealth of things to do can mean that the roads can indeed get a little busier than normal at peak times in the summer holidays, but...

... 20 yards from Bigbury-on-Sea's big and splendid sandy beach, and looking at Burgh Island over the low-tide sandy causeway, is this truly excellent and very greatly appreciated development of 29 high quality apartments of which we let 13, and, within the building, a very good private Leisure Club. The views over the sea to the south and west, and at low tide of a huge expanse of smooth washed yellow sand reaching to Burgh Island, are outstanding. The island's jolly pub, The Pilchard, is fun to visit (long-legged sea tractor at high tide).
All the apartments have those sensational views, are double-glazed, marvellously light, with large living/dining/fitted kitchens, glazed doors to balconies or terraces. They are privately owned and individually furnished. Smallish bedrooms at t...
