Minutes from the stunning beaches at Cahore, Old Bawn, Ballinoulart and Morriscastle; the villages of Ballygarrett and Kilmuckridge and just 18 minutes from the busy market town of Gorey. Please ensure foods in fridge are disposed of in bin marked general waste. Card,plastics & tins are placed in recycling bin. Glass jars & bottles placed in bottle bin.Waste bin in the lodge emptied. Place used bath and hand towels in the bath. Ensure oven and microwave are left clean. Dishwasher to be emptied & retuned to cupboard as found.Lights and heating if used turned off. Not entire unit just the heating icon. The front door keys can be left on the dinning table and front door closed.

Eight quiet days of Irish bliss

The pictures of this Lodge do it no justice! This gorgeous little haven in the middle of 'the shire' type country side is absolutely blissful. Fully equipped kitchen, laundry and lounge room all that you require to just escape from the hubbub of daily living. We found this little gem all way over the other side of the world in Melbourne - none of our relatives could track us down so we could escape each night or afternoon back to our peaceful haven. Brona and Philippe are wonderful hosts - there when you need them and not when you don't!. Take a trip to this 'out of the way' gorgeous cottage and treat yourself to some 'couple' time or even just 'me' time - you won't regret it.

Stunning Location, Luxurious Cottage, Exceptional Hosts, Typically Irish

We had an absolutely fantastic family holiday in this cottage. Philippe & Brona had thought of everything and it was of exceptional quality too. Philippe walked us down to the cottage and let us in, he gave us a quick tour and made us feel right at home, they had prepared a lovely welcoming basket for our arrival too. The cottage was very clean and even though it was summer there was always an excuse to have the log fire burning on an evening! The cottage was exceptionally quiet and very dark, we got some cracking night skies. We felt very safe and secure in this cottage, there was an alarm to the cottage when we were out during the days, the only down side to security was on a night the large floodlights on the main gates to the properties lit up the front bedroom every time a car or animal went by! It’s in a great location, close to a multitude of empty beaches and also a short drive away from the shops too. This was our first holiday in Ireland and we are already looking at dates for next year, if the cottage is available we will definitely be back and would highly recommend it too, thank you for starting our love affair with Ireland

About the neighbourhood

North Wexford comprises the popular town of Gorey which has grown tremendously in population over the past number of years. There are many beautiful seaside villages popular with visitors, including the picturesque village of Cahore, the summer festival village of Ballygarrett, the expanding village of Ferns, the popular country village of Ballycanew, the famous seaside village of Courtown, Holiday Villages of Kilmuckridge (home to Morriscastle beach), Blackwater, and many more besides. Situated in the 'Sunny South East' of Ireland, North Wexford is home to many fine sandy beaches popular with local surfers. Roney point in particular is a lovely walk even on a dull day. The famous Curracloe beach is also situated in North Wexford and was the location of the movie hit 'Saving Private Ryan'. Curracloe is also home to a myriad of birds who nest here annually specifically in the north and south Wexford slobs (Wexford Wildfowl Reserve). Wexford offers the visitor a large selection of historic and natural attractions including the J F Kennedy Homestead, Ferns castle, and Craanford Mills. Gorey and North Wexford also offer the walking enthusiast a choice of hillwalking destinations and walking trails.

How to get there

We are just over an hour south of Dublin city. By road, take the N11 in the direction of Wexford. Exit at J23. Follow the R741 to Ballycanew. Take the fork on the left toward Killenagh. Follow this road for several miles to the T-junction. Follow the R742 thru' Ballygarrett village and turn right where you see the sign for Clonganny House. We are 1km up this road on the right.
