Cottage
Kingfisher Cottage forms the northern end of a converted barn in the spectacular grounds of Itteringham Mill. It is extremely spacious and has great views across the millpond. The bedroom is on a galleried landing above the sitting room. The sitting room is very large with a north and west dual aspect but also receives light through the wide archway into the kitchen (east). It has a large comfortable sofa with plenty of cushions and a flat screen HD TV with Freeview. The bathroom, which is accessed via a small lobby off the sitting room, has an electric shower, wash-hand basin and WC. The kitchen is double aspect (north and east) and well equipped with electric cooker and hob, microwave, washing machine, fridge, kettle, toaster and mini radio/CD player. There is a good range of crockery, glassware, pans and cutlery. Because of our rural location there is no mobile phone coverage at the cottage (best signal is 1/2 mile up the road). Internet access is also slow (2Mbit/s) and sometimes intermittent. BT indicates that improved broadband should be available later in 2019. More

Ideally situated for exploring Norfolk. Peaceful location, just the sound of the river. The owners were very friendly and welcoming but not intrusive.

We were attracted to Kingfisher Cottage because of its location. The accommodation is situated close to the millpond and the mill where the owners live. Although it is adjoining another cottage (Swallow), inside there is plenty of comfortable, living space with a separate, well equipped...More

About the neighbourhood
North Norfolk is a hidden gem, and our part of it is particularly attractive, with gently rolling hills, fields, woodland and unspoilt coast, some of which is designated as Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The woods around us are full of bluebells early in the year, and May is the rhododendron season with Sheringham Park particularly famous for its display. The River Bure, which flows through our grounds is a spring-fed chalk stream bordered with willow, ash and alder and supporting stands of natural watercress. Otters have become a more common sight over the last few years. There are many fine churches and stately homes within a short drive as well as some more unusual places to visit such as the Amazonia Zoo just outside Cromer. Our area is crossed by many public footpaths allow...
