Traditional Cornish Farmhouse with large, private garden in peaceful rural setting, just 10 minutes drive from Rock and Polzeath. The house can comfortably take up to 13 guests in 7 bedrooms. Completely private, but with easy access to all the attractions of the Camel estuary and the north Coast of Cornwall. House sits above the river Amble and the Walmsley Bird Sanctuary, with views over the valley to St Mabyn church tower, and beyond to Rougtor (Cornwall's highest point). It is a short walk to Chapel Amble with its famous pub the Malsters Arms. The village also boasts a Post Office and general store, as well as the Olde House holiday complex with tennis courts and an indoor pool.

I stayed at Middle Amble Farmhouse in a large group of family members including 6 young children. The house is very spacious with many period features and a homely feel. The garden and outside areas were a big plus for us as we were able to enjoy a very secluded setting without any concern for the children. The one exception was the trampoline which we had to turn over so that the children couldn't use it - the owner had advised us to this though if we had any concerns, so no complaints from us. Chapel Amble has a nice pub and village shop and the house made a great base to explore the surrounding countryside and coast e.g Rock, New Polzeath, Lundy Bay, the Camel estuary, etc. Highly recommended for large groups looking for a relaxing place to stay.

We had a fantastic 4-day week-end with our three children staying in this house. It is beautifully done without being fussy. Really comfy beds and bed linen. Super kitchen for holiday family meals and outside veranda when the weather allowed (and we had 3 perfect days of weather, plus one cloudy). Action-packed days - beaches, the beautiful local golf course, a stately home (without the children!), rock pooling, body surfing, fish and chips, and a new version of ping pong. Full on. We also had friends staying nearby and the owners allowed us to ask them all over for lunch so we spilled out onto every table in the place. We managed to have 16 people all sitting down. You can't see the beach from the house, but we would rather a larger garden and no neighbours to a sea view. It is really quiet and on its own. Can't recommend highly enough. We're intending to come back next year.

Bodmin Parkway is 20-25 minutes by taxi ( we can recommend a taxi driver). Newquay airport the same, and Exeter Airport an hour and 15 minutes drive. You can avoid the Bodmin Moor A 30 chicane traffic jams by going via Camelford .
