Kingham, Oxfordshire, England
Completed in 2016, Berry Pen is a new cottage situated in a quiet courtyard at the rear of Kingham Village. Part of Kingham Cottages, it has been specially designed to be wheelchair accessible with a downstairs bedroom and accessible private garden. Finished to a very high spec, the property is light and spacious with under floor heating and a mixture of antique furniture and contemporary made to measure soft furnishings.

The open plan ground floor has plenty of space to sit in front of the open fire, dine at the large oak table overlooking the private garden or cook whilst chatting to fellow guests. There is a separate laundry off the kitchen.

The ground floor bedroom can either be a single (allowing space for a wheelchair) or a twin or double for normal use. It has an en-suite shower room.

The first floor has a large double b...

Kingham is a gorgeous village – we went on an epic walk and whilst it was a bit parky down by the river we warmed up in the Wild Rabbit which is truly extraordinary (it has a Michelin star). Kingham is a little gem.

The accommodation was perfect, cracking open plan living space fantastic for our group. There was ten of us in total - including four children split between Kite’s Gate and Berry Pen. We can’t speak highly of the cottages enough. The memories will live long. Whilst the gardens were bereft of leaves I can imagine how stunning it would be in the summer. We though are definitely coming back to see the building project – pavilion? – take shape in the middle of the garden. Some startling arches and carved columns lead quite an impression – we’ll be back to experience it!

About the neighbourhood
Kingham is a quiet village, not part of the tourist trail but with interesting architectural features and blessed with fabulous location. Within the village is the Michelin-starred 'Wild Rabbit' and the outstanding 'Kingham Plough' for serious gastronomic experiences, roaring fires and a smart pub experience. Also within walking distance is 'The Mill House', easier on the wallet and serving good pub food it's where the village go! A mile up the road is the world-renowned Daylesford Spa, organic farm shop and restaurant. A mind blowing and wallet-lightening experience that has to be seen to be believed!
Getting around
Kingham is a rural village and as such a car is recommended.

However, Kingham train station has an excellent service on the London / Hereford line and most trains are met by a bus that drops people in the middle of Kingham village.

There is a bus service that travels to the local market town of Chipping Norton and from there buses to further afield can be met.
Car advised
How to get there
Airport: Birmingham International Airport : 78.0 km
Railway: Kingham station : 2.1 km
Kingham Train Station is just outside the village of Kingham – either a 15-minute walk or 4-minute taxi or bus ride from Kingham Cottages.

If you are travelling by car, please enter OX7 6YL into your SatNav or Route Planner and you are looking for West End in Kingham. If it insists on needing a house number, use number 11, which is opposite Kingham Lodge.

West Street turns into West End at a tree in the middle of the road without any grass round the tree. For Berry Pen keep left of the tree and carry on in a straight line, up the left of Kingham Lodge, to a private gravel courtyard behind. Berry Pen is facing you to the right of the stone wall. Please park infront of the cottage.
