We have been hosting guests holidays since 2017 and welcome people who have a passion for true vintage and an appreciation of both its delicacy and delight. Sorry, no parties and no children allowed. GUESTS: due to the age, size and facilities we welcome a maximum of 4 people and 2 pets by arrangement. Due to insurance requirements we cannot accommodate children under 12 years old. HEATING and ELECTRICITY - an allowance of £2 per day electricity is included in the rental. We read the meter with you when you arrive as we greet you in person. Heating is via electric heaters and a coal fire. An initial complimentary supply of kindling, logs and coal is provided all year around. Further coal or logs can be bought at local garages and garden centres. LOUNGE: furnished entirely with 50's/60's vintage including 3 piece suite and drinks cabinet, glass china cabinet, unusual vintage lamps, bookcase, etc. original coal fire and of course, the serving hatch from the kitchen! BEDROOM 1: has a luxury 4' double bed suitable for tall people (no foot-board), memory foam sprung mattress and mattress topper, four pillows and a double duvet plus blankets for winter use. Bedside table with lamp, chest of drawers, chair, and small wardrobe. All beds are made up with fresh bed linen before you arrive. BEDROOM 2: has a 4'6' full double bed with new sprung mattress and memory foam topper, four pillows and a king-size duvet. This is a bunk bed and has a single 3' bed above. Wardrobe, chest of drawers, cupboard and bedside table with lamp. KITCHEN: if you prefer self catering you wont be disappointed, it is small but very well equipped. Gas cooker with eye level grill, enamel sink (hot water is via an immersion heater), fridge with ice compartment. Complimentary tea, coffee, sugar and milk are provided as well as the usual condiments. DINING / SUN ROOM: West facing and opening onto the private back garden. Furnished in traditional vintage Barley Twist dining table and 4 chairs with accompanying dining furnishings in keeping with the era. BATHROOM: modern full size bath, sink and toilet. Hot water is via the immersion heater. Fresh but basic hand and bath towels are provided. GADGETS: full WiFi broadband throughout. I also leave an Android phone charger in the lounge and a toothbrush charger in the bathroom wash-stand just in case you forget yours (or I forget mine for that matter!) GARDEN: as the chalet is detached there is a picket fence all around the plot. The front garden is facing the sea which can be heard when the tide is coming in. The chalet had a sea view until the 1953 flood surge after which a tidal barrier was built. The back garden is enclosed and private with garden set and extra chairs for guests. DOGS - Well behaved dogs are welcome (but please clear this when booking). All dogs must be house trained, continent and up to date with flea/worm treatments. Dogs who bark and disturb the neighbours would not be acceptable. The garden is completely fenced and dogs can run free in the garden and on the beach all year around. Please bring your own blankets or throws to cover upholstered furniture if your dog likes to use it. Please do not let your dogs on the beds. We dont charge extra for dogs but this means you have to clean up all the dog hairs. CLEANING - we do not charge a cleaning fee so expect guests to leave it as they found it. If the chalet requires more than 3 hours cleaning then we reserve the right to deduct a cleaning fee from the deposit. We like to greet all our guests in person and place fresh flowers & semi-skimmed milk on hand as well as fresh eggs from our free range ex battery hens. If its a chilly day, we will make you a fire for a warm welcome. Children are not allowed in the chalet. Parties are not allowed in the chalet or garden. More

Interaction with guests
We will spend around 15 minutes showing you where things are, reading the electricity meter with you as well as answering any questions you might have. Then we'll heave-ho and leave you to start your holiday. We are less than an hour away at all times. In addition both neighbours and friends who lives on the Fitties are available in emergencies. The neighbours either side are retired, quiet folk but are very helpful about local amenities and enjoy a chat. In other words this is not a chalet for loud parties, more for peace and quiet and walks on the beach and a few drinkies and even a bit of tobacco smoke, just remember to vent the rooms and we are all happy :o) Chill out. No dogs or smoking in the bedrooms.

It has a nice location, about fifty meters from the sea, you can bring your pet which is always a plus. The decor is quite fantastic with authentic vintage pieces that will bring you back to simpler times.

About the neighbourhood
'Fitties' is a local word meaning salt-marsh. People first came to Humberston Fitties in the early 1900's for the wonderful air and the quality of the light. Electric lighting was installed only in the 1990's, also during that decade the whole area was made into a Conservation Area to preserve the unique features and styles. Just to the south is Donna Nook - a nature sanctuary for migrating birds and seals. Cleethorpes beach is famous for kite-surfing as the conditions are so good. It is also on the Top Ten Beaches list. From the beach you can see Haile Sand and Bull Forts. These were built in WW1 and an anti-submarine net stretched between them. Several of the older chalets (including Era) were used for billeting troops during both wars.
Getting around
Ample parking for three cars at the rear of the chalet down 3rd Avenue. There is a launderette and small shop within walking distance on the Thorpe Park site. All amenities are available in Cleethorpes which is 2 miles away. There are plenty of pubs and shops in Humberston Village within walking distance and a Tesco Extra approx 3 miles away in Humberston, who can of course also deliver. There is a file with take-away and restaurant menus in the chalet.
