About the neighbourhood
Needham Market is a small market town in Mid Suffolk. It has a range of shops in the high St and is well known for its range of antique shops. Needham Lake is a short walk away and is an lovely place for walking and watching bird life. Within a short walk of Raven Cottage you will find Hawksmill with its lovely mill pond and ancient bridge. From here it is possible to walk along the very pretty River Gipping in either direction where you will see Kingfishers and other wildlife. Needham is also well placed for visits to many of the most well known places in the area. Lavenham Bury St Edmunds Cambridge Ely and the Suffolk Coast are all within a half hour drive.

You will almost certainly require a car if you want to get out of Needham and into the surrounding countryside. There are many pretty villages and lovely pubs to visit. Needham has a railway station from which you can catch a train to Ipswich or Cambridge.
