Holiday Rental House
Located in the historic district of Burton, Ohio & the heart of Geauga's Amish country, this newly renovated home is perfect for a family reunion or a couples get away weekend. 35 miles east of Cleveland with easy access to major highways there is RV parking and so much more! The Jaques house was once a carriage house / barn in the mid-1800's for the home next door. It was turned into a house in 1870 by Edward Porter Jaques and his wife Sarah. He was a local Cooper from Connecticut who came to Burton with his brothers to start their business Building barrels and buckets for agriculture and the Maple industry. Riddled with termites, and nearly falling down, Jim & Jill renovated it in 2015. You can still see one of the exposed Hand-hewn beams in the kitchen and dining room area. The house has smart TV and is equipped with a stand by generator. City water and sewer make this an uninterrupted trip in case of inclement weather. You can map out a local winery, a great fishing spot, or winter sporting fun.More

About the neighbourhood
Jim grew up just around the corner! His Dad was the towns IGA grocer and Jill's was the local Veterinarian. A beautiful place to stay in a picturesque historic village with the Geauga county historical century village and the oldest continuous county fair in Ohio in walking distance. Burton is nick-named 'pancake town USA' for its maple syrup producing log cabin in the center of the village green. You will be staying just a few miles from the worlds 4th largest Amish community, Middlefield, Ohio. Antique stores abound in this area. Restaurants are a short walk away including the best coffee house in the area.
