Attractive old stone cottage refurbished to a very high standard nestles next to the church in the charming village of Fenny Bentley in the Peak National Park, just 3 miles north of Ashbourne. Centrally heated throughout, plus a log burner in our cosy sitting room with TV, CD and radio. The stylish kitchen diner is well equipped and spacious and still retains its original flagstone floor. The ground floor bathroom has underfloor heating, bath with overhead shower, wash basin and toilet. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with 2 single beds. Both bedrooms have plenty of storage space for clothing. Outside there is a traditional cottage garden, a small secluded sitting out area and secure garage. We keep 4 bikes for the use of our guests. There are 2 popular pubs serving food within easy walking distance. The Tissington Trail is close by as are numerous walks without the need for a car. The cottage is ideally situated for those wanting to explore all the attractions that Derbyshire and the Peak District have to offer such as Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Matlock Bath, Carsington Water, the caves at Castleton, the National Memorial Arboretum and the towns of Ashbourne, Bakewell, and Buxton. Whilst the Covid-19 pandemic continues, we do not do back-to-back stays, the cottage is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before each stay and all linen is washed at a minimum of 60 degrees. Unfortunately we are unable to leave maps, books and games to remove any risk of infection. We hope this gives you some peace of mind whilst staying at Yew Tree Cottage. Strictly no smoking or pets. Minimum of 3 night bookings.More

This beautiful little cottage provided the perfect base for adventures into the Peak District. After wet walks it provided a warm, cosy and peaceful return. It is immaculate inside and out with everything you would need and more. I cannot recommend highly enough.

We booked Yew Tree Cottage as a result of a combination of good reviews, it's location near to the Tissington and High Peak Trails and it's proximity to several pubs within walking distance. The cottage itself was sensitively refurbished and had everything that we needed...More

About the neighbourhood
Fenny Bentley is the most southerly village in the Peak District. Its a small village located close to Dovedale, which you can walk to across beautiful countryside directly from this cottage. Fenny Bentley, with a lovely church where you can see the rare and strange shrouded tomb of the Beresford family, lies three miles north of the attractive market town of Ashbourne, on the A515 Buxton to Ashbourne Road. The disused track of the former London and North Western Railway from Ashbourne to Buxton, which is now a leisure trail for walkers, cyclists and horse riders, the 'Tissington Trail', is very close to our cottage, together with other walks of the local countryside without the need for a car. Each year Fenny Bentley plays host to the World Toe Wrestling Championships in the local Bentle...
