With easy access to the lakes this is a great base with all home comforts. We are a family of 4 with 2 young children & we all LOVED the conservatory where we spent most of our time. We’ll definitely be returning.

About the neighbourhood
Eamont Bridge is a small village close to the lovely market town of Penrith, the village is named after the bridge over the river Eamont and straddles the boundary between the ancient counties of Cumberland and Westmorland. There are two ancient sites in the village, namely the earthwork known as King Arthur's Round Table and the much better preserved Mayburgh Henge which is situated between the rivers Lowther and Eamont, Mayburgh henge was built using stones from one or both rivers. The situation between rivers was probably important when it was built 3000 or 4000 years ago, and was also thus protected from invasion. Both sites are under the protection of Historic England. The town of Penrith is a ten minute walk from the cottage
Getting around
The lovely market town of Penrith is 1.9 mile from the cottage, the town is steeped in history, there are interesting and diverse shops, good architecture, good pubs serving real ales and good food. Restaurants and tea rooms can be found among the book shops, antique shops and art galleries, there are also several ladies boutiques. Local taxis are reliable, approximately 20 minute walk into Penrith, regular bus service.
