Maine, New York
An artistic, unique log cabin for a single family, set in the woods of Maine overlooking oceanside Jellison Cove in Hancock, Maine. The home is between the 2 branches of Acadia National Park (the lesser known is called Schoodic) and is close to Mt. Desert - Bar Harbor, Northeast, Southwest and Ellsworth. The owner built her dream house based on her experiences at summer camp in the Adirondaks of New York. One can tell immediately upon entering that this is a home designed for art, with many creative details like live edge window sills and unusual tile work, soaring ceilings supported by grand logs from Ontario. The kitchen is built for those who love to cook and daydream, gazing out the wall of windows to the ocean view. The master bedroom has the same sunny seaside view as does one of the second floor guestrooms. Its an easy walk down t... Read more

About the neighbourhood
Hancock, Maine is a sleepy little beauty of a village. It sits on Jellison Cove, a protected spot on the ocean with great views of Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park if you look right and Schoodic Mountain (on the quieter side of Acadia) if you look left. There's a lobstering boat anchored in the cove and a nice beach surrounded by rosa rugosa. Much of this can be seen from the generous sized sunny deck off the back of the cabin.
This is an area which sports several delicious restaurants - a few of which are old favorites and a few are brand new and very exciting, not to mention delectable and fun. There are many artists who live here and whose studios you can visit as well as a yearly studio tour day and of course many galleries.
