About the neighbourhood
Malama Umoyo is within the Lower Lupande Area, about 40km from Mfuwe and 130km from Petauke. From both sides you can reach Malama Umoyo, which is in the Malama Chiefdom. The area is still unspoiled, wild, remote and without tourists. Here you will find a true wildlife experience, with Malama Umoyo as your camp in the bush. Nearby is the entrance to the park, but also in Malama you will see many many animals, see the Chindeni Hills and hot water springs. Driving from either Petauke or Mfuwe to Malama is a once in a lifetime experience.

From Chipata it is 130kms to Mfuwe via tarred road. From Mfuwe it is 40km to Malama Umoyo Camp over a gravel/sand/dirt road through the bush. You will need a 4x4 or at least a car with a high clearance.
From Petauke it is 130kms to Malama. First 60km over a fair gravel road and then on a sand/dirt/rock road. You will see the rural african life from time to time and once you reach Malama you will see wildlife.
