Springfield castle is a luxurious self catering, vacation rental set in the heart of country Limerick in Ireland making it an ideal base for touring. The property is set on a 200 acre wooded estate. When you rent the castle it is exclusively yours. The property consists of two buildings, Springfield Castle which has 8 bedrooms and sleeps up to 15 guests and the East Tower which is a newly renovated building with 5 bedrooms sleeping up to 10 guests. The castle and the east tower can be rented separately for smaller groups or in conjunction for larger groups of up to 25. Max sleeping capacity is 25 guests plus 3 children under age 5.
If you intend on holding an event of over 25 guests it must be discussed previous to arrival and a venue charge may apply.
Only Springfield castle’s approved suppliers may be used for events. Smoking is only allowed downstairs and not in the bedrooms.

About the neighbourhood
The Castle is set on a beautiful 200 acre wooded estate which is yours to roam. There are deer on the farm and your host Jonathan will take you for a guided tour around the property. In the woods are areas set out for picnics and BBQ's . There is also a tennis court on the property and a soccer pitch and playground for children, Croquet can be set up on the lawn for those who are interested.The villages of Dromcollogher and Broadford are close by and have shops and plenty of pubs. The Mullaghareirk mountains above Broadford have lots of walking trails and in the Ballyhoura mountains there are also mountain bike trails for the more adventurous.
Getting around
A hire car is recommended however there are local bus companies that can be rented to take your group around. This is a great way for everyone to travel together and enjoy the sights with no one have to take the responsibility of driving

How to get there
Shannon is the closest international airport, within one hours drive. Cork is also about an hour. Dublin is connected to Limerick by a motorway and the journey time is only 3 hours. You can get the train from Dublin to Charleville. Rosslare is a 3 and a half hour drive.<BR>If you prefer not to drive we can recommend taxi or coach hire companies who know the locality well.
