Holiday Rental House
Chestnut consists of a refurbished vintage 1974 Castleton caravan alongside a log cabin built from timber from our own woodlands, that houses a large shower room and kitchen/seating area. Chestnut is situated on the edge of our woodlands with a view of the swimming pool and towards the Dordogne valley. We have lovingly refurbished the caravan with fun retro styling and fixtures and fittings. There is a comfortable double bed in the caravan, and a choice of dining for two inside or out. Chestnut is so named because of the Chestnut trees that can be found deep in our woodlands and in the wider Dordogne area. Chestnut is so named because of the Chestnut trees that can be found deep in our woodlands and in the wider Dordogne area. Chestnut has its own private kitchen area in the log cabin immediately adjacent to the caravan, there is a 2-ring gas hob, grill, and a washing up area. Chestnut is fully equipped with all crockery, cutlery and utensils needed and there is a full sized fridge with freezer compartment. The log cabin also houses a lounge area with comfy sofa and a spacious shower room. There is a charcoal barbecue with a covered outside dining area or you can set the table up inside for a cosy romantic candle lit dinner. There is ample storage in the caravan with plenty of cupboards, drawers and a wardrobe. There is WiFi internet access in the grounds and there are power points in the caravan and the cabin. We offer a daily freshly baked bread/pastries delivery service - direct to your door! On you arrival you will find a welcome basket containing locally baked bread, cheese, butter, milk, biscuits and a bottle of local wine. At night the interior of caravan and the outside areas are lit by hundreds of pretty, twinkling fairly lights. During your stay in Chestnut you will feel at one with the environment and surrounded by nature yet you are only steps away from the fabulous amenities offered by La Blanquette, including a newly installed boules court and our fun Champagne Shed! Glamping guests have the use of the large swimming pool and gardens at La Blanquette. All of this is with the added bonus of no towing your caravan, we do all the hard work and leave the best bit, the posh camping, to you! There is a shared used washing machine. All bed linen and kitchen towels are provided, please bring your own bathroom towels and towels to use around the pool. There are two restaurants, a farm shop and an organic store within walking distance. We provide bike hire (including electric bikes) and canoe and kayak hire on site. We are located just a short distance away from the mainly flat cycle path the Voie-Verte - cycling the Voie Verte is a wonderful way to see the small towns and beautiful countryside of our region. As well as seeing the scenery from the saddle why not rent a canoe or kayak from us for the day? You'll see gorgeous wildlife and stunning chateaux while taking a gentle paddle down the river. We will transport you and the boat to and from the beautiful Dordogne river and even provide you with a picnic if you choose! Search for 'La Blanquette, Sarlat' on line to see more pics. La Blanquette is not suitable for young children but those over 12 are welcome.More

About the neighbourhood
Sarlat is a few kilometres north of the River Dordogne. It is a medieval town that developed around a large Benedictine abbey of Carolingian origin. Because modern history has largely passed it by, Sarlat has remained preserved and one of the towns most representative of 14th century France. It owes its current status on France's Tentative List for future nomination as a UNESCO World Heritage site to the enthusiasm of writer, resistance fighter and politician André Malraux, who, as Minister of Culture (1960–1969), restored the town and many other sites of historic significance throughout France. The centre of the old town consists of impeccably restored stone buildings and is largely car-free. Sarlat is a pleasure to walk around, especially during the spring and autumn, or early in the ...
