Whether you are visiting in winter or summer, the location provides you with lots of opportunities for recreation. The home sits on a beautiful piece of land, and the owners have lots of yard games waiting for you. The home also has a lot going for it inside as well. With almost 2000 square feet, not even including the game room / garage, you'll have quite a bit of space to spread out. The main living area features vaulted ceilings, brand new hickory floors, a massive stone fireplace, large HDTV, and granite counters in the kitchen, and create a very welcoming and friendly space. The oversized heated garage is so big that it has parking plus ping pong, air hockey, foos ball, and a real treat, skee ball. The home has many beds which make it very comfy for groups of all sizes. Please read on for more detailed information on the home itself and the location. Lets start with the location. You'll enjoy almost immediate access to the national forest and trail systems. The Stillwater Trailhead and National Forest boundary are less than 1 mile away, and the Idleglen Trailhead is less than 3 miles away. This gives you almost immediate access to over 100 miles of trails. In summer, this area is great for hiking, mountain biking, dirt biking, ATVs, OHVs, or just a scenic drive with views that are hard to forget. In winter, this area is a winter wonderland that is great for Snowmobiling, Cross Country Skiing, or Snowshoeing. Want to get on the water? This home is very close to Shadow Mountain Lake and Lake Granby, as well as the Stillwater boat ramps and Beacon Landing marina. Sound good so far? The home itself sits on a large piece of land high above the valley floor with nice views of the surrounding area. The ample front yard has just enough slope for some sledding in winter, but is also gentle enough for summer yard games, and has plenty of open space for kids to explore while you can still keep an eye on them. Yard games you'll find at the home include horseshoes, ladder ball, corn hole, and yard dice. The newest addition to outdoor fun at our home is disc golf! We have 3 baskets which allow for different degrees of difficulty, depending where you stand. There's also a built in fire pit for smores, ghost stories, and that outdoor camping experience, but with a comfy warm bed to crawl into when you put out the fire. There is also seating in the yard near the horseshoe pits, so you can relax and enjoy the view until its your turn to toss. Don't forget about the home's front deck. It is very large, running the length of the home. Here you have a commanding view of the whole front yard plus the valley and 12,000+ foot high peaks as far as 60 miles away. There is a motorized awning for shade, outdoor dining set and other seating, plus a gas grill for BBQ time. Okay lets go inside. The front of the home, including the great room and deck, face south, providing great natural light all year long. The great room combines the living room, dining room, and kitchen into one massive space. Being a log home with 20+ foot high tongue and groove ceilings with large exposed beams, you'll find this area to be very warm and welcoming with a spacious feel. The kitchen has been upgraded to include granite counters and a granite sink, plus there's a custom log beam lighting over the kitchen bar. If you're the chef in the group, not only will you be able to be part of the action in this large open concept area, but you'll have a beautiful space to create your culinary treats. The kitchen bar and dining area combine to accommodate even larger groups at one time. The living room has lots of seating as well. You'll be very comfy on the leather sofas and recliners that surround the fireplace and HDTV. There's also a stereo system that you can plug into for background music that really sets the tone for your vacation time. This home has owners who really try to think of everything, so the home comes equipped with lots of books and games as well as toys for kids, so there really is a lot to enjoy. There's so much to do and enjoy in and around this home, you'll have no problem getting a good night's rest, and the bedrooms here deliver. The first 2 bedrooms are on the main level. Bedroom 1 is a large room with a King bed and attached private bathroom. Bedroom 2 has 2 Twin beds and is accessed through the King bedroom, but is private, separated with a door, and has a nice view of the back yard.. So these two bedrooms are sort of like a big suite that would be ideal for a couple with 2 kids or up to 4 people, whatever your group dynamic may be.
