About the neighbourhood
We are just at the edge of the Sierra National forest. The property backs up to the forest and there are several trails to explore the area for old gold mines. The cabin is at the 4000 ft elevation so we get snow in the winter. The roads get plowed twice a day, just before the school bus comes in the AM and when school gets out. You need to carry chains or cables if there is snows or have a 4 wheel vehicle. The area abounds with wild life, raccoons, wild turkeys, many types of birds, squirrels, deer, just about anything that is wild and free in the area.
A car is necessary to view all the sights in the area.
