SILVERMINES FOR EVER.
SEE YOU SOON¡

what a wonderful pace to stay!
We stayed at the Old Forge Cottages for a week and what a great time we had! Paul and Karin couldn't have been more accommodating and friendly. The place was very clean, very nice and in a great village. The community has a friendly local pub called Hickeys where you can learn about anything by just asking Tommy the owner. And if you're a walker ther are many trails nearby. Beautiful area, wonderful people and great accomodations!

The cottage was exceptionally well-designed, furnished and comfortable. Surrounding countryside beautiful. Paul the owner is very helpful and responsive. Great bar across the road with owner who is great raconteur. Nearby lovely walk through hills and heather with wild horses roaming. Cannot recommend more highly!

Excellent cottage for a few relaxing days
The place is even nicer in real life than it is on the pictures. Very comfortable and equipped with everything you may need for your stay. It was our first time in Ireland and we wanted to visit many places all over the country, and the location of this cottage is just perfect for that. And our hosts were always very friendly and helpful. In summary, it was a lovely experience.

Lovely and comfortable cottage with all the mod cons
Three members of my extended family and I spent a lovely 5 days in this cottage situated fairly centrally the Ireland in the small village of Silvermines. The owner was great with correspondence, replying within less than 24 hours to my messages, and was always readily available whenever we needed him after we arrived. The cottage was comfortable, modern but constructred to look like an older building, it was really nice. The lounge furniture and beds were all really comfortable. Wifi was good. The bathrooms and appliances were modern and efficient and the kitchen was well equipped. We wished the weather was warmer so that we could enjoy the beautiful terrace, but September in Ireland is mostly wet and we knew it.
We were welcomed on our arrival with a freshly baked raisin bread which was awesome because we were starving and there are no restaurants in Silvermines. The pub across the road only opens at 6 pm and doesn't serve meals. Silvermines is a very small community so this was understandable and Nenaugh with plenty of food stores and restaurants is only 10 minutes away. The owner also had milk and butter for us as well as coffee and tea.
There are laundry facilities but not in the cottage itself and there was enough laundry soap to do a few loads which was plenty for our needs. We were not used to European washers and had trouble getting it to work and it took way to long to wash a load of clothes (because we didn't set it up right?). A comprehensive set of instructions on how to use the washer and dryer should be provided in the information booklet. Besides the laundry, the only con was how difficult it was to find the location even with a GPS, which may have been a deficiency of the product, but detailed directions would have helped.
All in all, we were very happy with this rental and we unanimously recommend it to anyone wanting to visit the area.

Glad you had an enjoyable stay. With regards to the laundry I have to say that there has never been a problem with other guests using the machines. They are very easy to use . Finding Silvermines village is not that difficult, it is only 15 minutes drive from the M7 motorway J24. it is easy to find. I will however take onboard your comments.

Perfect cottage to share with another couple
Beautiful cottage set in a lovely garden, and delightful small village. Spacious very comfortable accommodation, each bedroom has its own ensuite so perfect for two couples. Paul was a wonderful host, picked us up from the station in Nenagh as we arrived before our friends with their car, and arranged for a local taxi to take us back at the end of the stay.
We had several meals out, and especially liked The Pepper Mill in Nenagh.
Would love to come back one day.

Very nice Host, rooms just as lovely in person as in the pictures
The rooms are just as nice, if not BETTER, in person. Paul was a great Host, Dickeys Pub across the street and small grocery store sure make it convenient for supplies or a pint. Tom at the the Pub is just as friendly and the locals love to tell TALL Tales. Made for a wonderful time.
The location was not the best for us and our Itinerary, but that was offset by having such a great place to come back to each day. You can't go wrong staying there with Paul at the Silvermines.

What a wonderful place to spend your holidays
The cottage was very nice and beautifully furnished. The lovely garden with all the blooming lavender was an amazing place to spend a quiet evening. There was a fireplace inside, so we could enjoy films in a cozy atmosphere. Another big plus were the two bathrooms, so there was no queue in the mornings. Silvermines is a nice quiet place which is located in the middle of Ireland, so one can reach everything in at most two hours by car. Therefore it was a perfect basis for day trips. We loved the hospitality and warm atmosphere and would love to return some time to this amazing cottage.
