At the edge of civilization, the Tiny House is located in a tiny town at the end of two state highways, surrounded by thousands of acres of recreational paradise. Love all the wilderness has to offer like ATVing, snowmobiling, kayaking, hiking, remote woods and trails, hunting, fishing, ….. but appreciate a hot shower and electricity?….. this Tiny House is the perfect compromise! Unlike a remote camp, Tiny House has hot running water, electricity and convenience to village amenities. No TV, so you can unplug from the rat race and enjoy each others' company while playing board games, cards or reading interesting stories together, from our library. Though cell service is quite excellent, we just added free WiFi for your laptop convenience! We have a comfy queen size bed and a full size futon, so it is ideal for two couples, or a couple with young children. This is truly the best of both worlds, because you can drive, ATV or snowmobile only 5 miles north to your own private ''playground' on a dead end remote dirt road, and gaze at the amazing mountain view while sitting by the camp fire, in the large hammock or chairs (seasonal). A former barber shop, Mountain Village Tiny House is located right in the village; hop on your ATV or snowmobile and ride the extensive network of trails, including ITS 82…. gas pumps are handy, right across the street! Or, bring your boat or kayak (plenty of parking) and drive a few miles to the boat ramps at Umbagog Lake or Richardson Lakes; try and hook a huge lake trout or salmon. Motor or paddle up to the remote sandy beaches; see moose or bald eagles along the way. Fish for brook trout in one of the many crystal clear brooks and rivers. Drive a few miles north into the mountains to hunt partridge or deer. The Appalachian Trail is just a few miles down the road. Dramatic waterfalls and gorges, crystal clear cascades are all just a short drive away. And... closer, walk down the road to a secluded swimming hole with deep pools and waterfalls, on the Ellis River. Or a five minute walk around the block to a hiking/ski trail that leads far up into the mountains. Stroll across the street to the general store for a pizza or ice cream cone, or two doors down to the diner for a full hot breakfast, home made muffins, whoopee pies, or order a Prime Rib with a cold frosty on Friday night. …. all you can eat buffets on Thursdays and Saturdays! Sit on your front deck sipping coffee and watch the world go slowly past, Hear the summer concerts from the common on Friday nights. Drive a few miles north into the mountains to your private wooded mountaintop “playground' - JUST FOR YOU - with incredible panoramic views across the Andover valley, a fire pit, seasonal double hammock and remote hiking trail access. Or “stay home” and relax in your large living room, admiring the beautiful tin ceiling, Van Gogh prints, or the Main St. sights beyond your huge picture window. Read a book from our library or play a board game in our collection. Play your MP3s or CDs from our vintage collection. Catch up with friends and family with our FREE WiFi! Make brunch in the fully equipped open concept kitchen with breakfast bar. A large bathroom with full tub and a private bedroom in the rear with a new QUEEN size comfy bed, a full size futon for friends or children, complete your tiny house experience. A door opens from the bedroom to the back porch and large back yard. WE ARE PET FRIENDLY! Andover is an undiscovered gem, a quiet tiny town, located just a few miles from the Appalachian Trail, right in the heart of vacationland. Route 5 has been called “Moose Alley” due to the large number of moose sightings near the road. Our business is called Skyline Ridge Vacation Rentals; we own two remote off-grid cabins and this, our Tiny House. We have been operating our two off grid remote cabins on Skyline Ridge for over 8 years, and have collected over 100 five star reviews. See them on this website or by searching online for Skyline Ridge Vacation Rentals. Skyline Ridge Vacation Rentals would like to give you the best available rate in booking our rentals. PS: We have 6 kayaks for rent if you'd like to take a trip on one of the huge remote lakes nearby, or paddle down the Androscoggin River. Tourist License / Licencia de turismo N °: 1163476More

About the neighbourhood
Do you long for a place and time where kids can still ride their bikes around the block, to the playground and library? A small town that is isolated and safe? Where everyone knows everyone, no one just passes through, because there is nowhere beyond? This is Andover, Maine. If you look at Andover on a map, you will see that it is located at the end of two state highways, Rt. 5 and Rt. 120. This tiny town is at the edge of the mountains, the edge of civilization. Here is where the pavement ends, and adventure begins! Kayaking nearby large remote lakes, you will see bald eagles, great blue herons, moose, deer, osprey, loons, mergansers, geese and more! There are rivers with riffles and rapids, too! World class fly fishing, hunting, ATV trails galore, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, h...
Getting around
Bring your kayak (or rent ours), bikes, ATVs, snowmobiles, snow shoes, hiking shoes. PLEASE NOTE: From November to April, AWD and good tires required to visit the playground!
