3 minutes from the beach with separate entrance and private lawn. King size bed, flat screen, etc. but the real charm is the tropical garden setting with two pools and a waterfall. The area is world famous for diving and owners live on property. Enjoy peace and quiet but easy access to all the dive shops and restaurants in the area. The Space Is it a big Nipa Hut? Well it looks like that but it is a very solid structure with a Koogan grass roof. The studio is at the base of the house so it has a normal concrete ceiling. The studio consists of a king size bed, flat screen TV, papa-san chair, table with two chairs, water dispenser for hot and cold water which is supplied free of charge. Two burner built-in gas stove, two door refrigerator, and various appliances. If you need something that...3 minutes from the beach with separate entrance and private lawn. The studio consists of a king size bed, flat screen TV, papa-san chair, table with two chairs, water dispenser for hot and cold water which is supplied free of charge. Two burner built-in gas stove, two door refrigerator, and various appliances. If you need something that is not there it is more than likely that we have one upstairs. If you like cooking you are welcome to raid the herb garden. If you would like a virtual tour we can set up a time to Skype. I named it 'Honu House.' Honu means Green Sea Turtle in Hawaiian. In addition to having lived in Hawaii for many years, turtles are my favorite things to see in the water. We have a couple of resident turtles that can you see diving and/or snorkeling. Guest Access In addition to the unit, guests have access to the two pools, laundry and barbecue. The grass area in front of the studio together with table and chairs is for the use of studio guests. Interaction with Guests We generally interact with our guests to the extent that they like. We have lots of regular activities such as jungle treks, dog walks, happy hours and group dinners. There are lots of expats living around us so all you need to do is join us for an event and you will meet a dozen people of varying backgrounds. The Neighborhood Our beach has no roads. It is 500 meters to the other two beaches which have road access. This means you don't hear vehicles and you don't breathe in pollution. The land on our beach is or was owned by a couple of related families and they still live there so local strangers don't hang around which serves as a type of security. Getting around There are various forms of transportation available: 1. Habal-habal, small motorbikes that you hop on the back of. One should consider the dangers involved with motorcycle transportation. 2. Rental motorbikes from 50cc up to 200cc enduro types. Again be cautious. It does not matter how good a rider you are. The roads are in bad condition and the drivers are no better. 3. Tricycles are motorbikes with a sidecar. They are the most expensive way to get around on the roads. 4. Jeepneys are a famous part of Philippine culture and the most common form of transportation in most parts of the country. They are like oversized pick-up trucks with two bench seats facing each other.mif you are lucky someone will bring a load of live chickens on the journey. They are big, heavy and clunky but are the cheapest and safest mode of transportation. The five Km. into town costs 20 pesos which is about 45 cents (U.S.). 5. Bangkas are double outrigger wooden boats and are ubiquitous in this country of 7,007 islands. They can take you A to B or you can hire them for a day of snorkeling or a barbecue on a secluded beach. We can advise of the appropriate prices to pay for these various modes of transportation. Other Things to Note Internet. We have the best internet we can get but it is only fair to warn you that it is not great. You can email and do Skype video pretty much anytime. Streaming is not possible unless you do it in the middle of the night. House Rules We would hope that guests respect our property and anyone else who is staying there. Some things that might be expected: ~ no loud noise late at night ~ keeping the door to the property closed so. the dogs don't get out ~ not feeding our dogs anything but water as they are on special dietsMore
