Holiday Rental House -
2 Bedrooms , 2 Bathrooms , Sleeps 6
Fes, Fes-Boulemane Region
' This traditional house renovated recently by some of Fez' best craftsmen is a replica in a smaller scale of the stunning palaces which hide behind the high walls of the Medina. The exquisite decoration includes samples of most of Morocco's traditional handicraft: sculpted plaster and painted wood, decorative iron grills, colourful handmade tiles, tadelakt, ceramic, etc... Furnishing combines the luster of Moroccan tradition with western comfort. It is ideally situated in a quiet area three minutes's walk from a parking on the main road leading to the heart of the medina and a pleasant stroll away from main historic monuments, craft shops, craftmen's workshops and the famous tanneries. Just around the corner is one of the liveliest food markets in Fez. On the ground floor two enormous doors open from the furnished pat... Read more

We stayed in Dar Daheb for 3 days and were super happy with such a big house. The location is perfect; it is reachable by taxi and it takes a 5 minute walk to reach the medina. We were picked up at the airport and the rest also went smoothly: we met someone who would guide us the next day...

Management response:

I am glad you enjoyed your stay at Dar Daheb. The wifi is about the best you can get in Fez. The one we have is run by Maroc Telecom, the main phone company. Sorry about the gas. Just a comment on prices in the medina: in fact you get much better prices when you go on your own because...

About the neighbourhood
Fes Medina , a medieval labyrinth of more than 9,400 pedestrian streets funded in the 9th century, is the oldest medina in Morocco and one of the largest and best preserved in the Arab world. It was declared Worl Heritage Monument by Unesco in 1981. It maintains ancient craft traditions and in its narrow streets one gets bewildered by the perfume of spices, sweets and dried fruit, the colours of its craft shops and the flurry of its food markets. Within 70km of Fez one can visit the imperial town of Meknes, the ruins of the Roman city of Volubilis, the easy going mountain towns, cedar forests and ski slopes of the Middle Atlas mountains. Dar Daheb is located near the center but close to the only main street where there is parking, taxis and buses, just a few steps away.
