Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

The unit was roomy, beautiful view, relatively close to Shenandoah NP. But it wasn't cleaned properly-carpet is stained--there were roaches. People are friendly and seem to want to help, but there was no follow through--nobody came to take care of the problem. They did offer to move us, but how could we know that another unit would be better? Wi-fi is difficult to get on, resort fee is too much for what is included. Maybe like everywhere else they're having staffing issues. As far as the recommendation to a friend-really depends on the friend and level of tolerance for bugs.

We have been using the exchange for this RCI property for many years. Until recently it was great. Location, unit.. the whole package. This past summer we stayed with friends. When the door was opened, there was a funky off odor. Stepping inside the furniture was visibly black! What a turn off! What a shame! Was hard to ignore and made it a lot less enjoyable! This furniture needs trashed!

I stayed at this resort with a friend.... we needed a girls weekend, away. Everything about this resort was excellent!! The check-in was very easy and organized. The condo was spacious and clean. The condos were well appointed, with plenty of towels and kitchen accessories. They even had some cute little toiletries, that were lovely! I will return to this resort!!

My husband and I had stayed in Massanutten more than 25 years ago when our children were young, and we really enjoyed our stay. This time, we stayed in Regal Vista. The units are beautiful. Very large rooms with great bathrooms and a well equipped kitchen. I was so impressed with how clean and careful the management was with regard to COVID protocols, especially with regard to check-in and the gym.

We love staying at the Regal Vistas. It’s nice to be able to spread out somehow, especially if you’re going to be there a full week. The garage and on-site laundry are a nice change from the other unit types in this resort. The houses are set up as duplexes, and each side offers 2 bedrooms and 2 full baths. A full kitchen (service for 6-8 people) and a living and dining area. There is also a small deck in the back where you can grill in the summer time. This gated community (gate is always open though) has its own outdoor pool. Massanutten, however has a lot of pools to choose from. Just check the schedule to make sure the pool is open. We love owning here. I have yet to find a use for our Gold card though. None of the outdoor activities we’ve done so far offered a discount for Gold card holders, even the spa.

We have stayed in 30 various timeshares in the country and this was the best place ever.. Beds, furnishings, amenities provided were top notch. They are about 10-15 minutes from mt but close to water park, petting stables, wonderful playgrounds for the kids. The unit was A plus as far as cleanliness as well. Not one spot even on the shower glass.. Plenty of towels, tp and kitchen supplies. We had 2 two bedrooms which was perfect with the grandkids... Thank you for such a great stay.

We occupied both halves of this particular style of units. No complaints save the jacuzzi style bathtub. I would suggest running bleach thru the system a couple times before you get in to get comfortable. I could see the residue from the water that sits in the piping leave dark stains when I emptied the tub the first time. The grounds and resort are beautiful as well as the modern units. Much was closed due to the pandemic but our time was more about family and turkey. I will definitely revisit this pleasant resort.

We are Wyndham timeshare owners, so our expectations are high when we stay anywhere. We e had some less than stellar trades through RCI, but Regal Vistas exceeded our expectations. Check in was quick and easy; we arrived mid-week, so it wasn’t very busy. Our unit was spotlessly clean and well equipped. Loved the gas fireplaces in the living room and bedroom, loved the rainfall shower. The smoke detector started chirping one morning at 6:00am. Maintenance was very prompt about coming to replace it. Anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in great accommodations should consider Regal Vistas at Massanutten. Looking forward to our next visit.

I have owned at Massanutten since 1991. I currently own at the Summit Sunrise. We exchanged to get into Regal Vista. The resort is over 7000 acres, so a car is needed to get around. There are stores, restaurants, 2 PGA golf courses, horseback riding, fishing, hiking and many other activities. Some are paid and some are free. Spend some time on the website to see a complete list of activities. Regal Vista is a gated area with duplexes that are lock outs with 2 bedrooms on each side. Each also has a garage. It has a neighborhood feel. We saw people walking every time we went out. This section also has it’s own private pool and workout area. It is also closer to the entrance for easy access to the surrounding area. The unit was very nice. Fireplaces in the living room plus in the master bedroom. They have free wifi and a premium paid version (which I have never tried). The free version was nice. Each unit has a washer and dryer. Well stocked and even some extra supplies for Covid. Face masks and cleaning cloths. There are lots of windows and we had some awesome views. There is a small deck with a table and BBQ grill. I spent a lot of time out there looking at deer and the scenery. The surrounding area has a lot to do as well. Historical sites, restaurants, and shopping to name a few. We go to Joshua Wiltons every time we are in the area. It is in Harrisonburg. We also love The Mill Street Grill in Staunton. A trip to the visitors center in Harrisonburg will help you pick some things to do. Check in and check out are painless. We had to got to the office to check in but we sent a text and dropped our keys and remote door openers in a box to check out. Love that system!

We have owned at Massanutten since 1991. We have upgraded twice and now own at The Summit on the mountainside. However for our last 3 visits we have stayed at Regal Vista. Let me start with the resort. I believe that Massanutten owns 7000 acres of property. You will definitely be using your car unless you stay in your room all week. There are MANY things to do right on the resort. Some are free and some are not. There are restaurants and stores as well. There are also many things to do off of the resort within easy driving distance. The thing that I think needs work is the restaurant situation. I feel as though they are leaving a lot of money on the table by not addressing this. There are many choices off of the resort. The Regal Vista units are incredible. They are very close to the entrance for easy access on and off of the resort. You can back into the garage and unload your car with ease. They had new clocks this time which was an improvement. They had usb ports on the clocks and also on some of the lamps. Very convenient. The wifi comes in free and paid premium. The free was not fast, but usable. The room was as expected for a Gold Crown. Very well kept and plenty of supplies. There was construction the last time we were there. Now the units are all complete. They have the area divided in half. It changes right after the pool house. The lower newer section is Saturday check in and the older upper level is Sunday check in. In our Summit unit the laundry is shared with two units if you only get half of the lockout. In Regal Vista each side has it's own laundry. We like this much better. This is a gated section. However we only had to let ourselves in with a key one time. The in gate was open the rest of the time. The out gate was closed all but one time. You did not need a key to get out, but you had to wait for the gate to open. This seemed odd. I was asked about attending a presentation at check in and they called our room twice. After 28 years of ownership, I am pretty sure they are not going to change my mind with repeated phone calls. We always leave early and the checkout procedure is awesome. We dialed a number and dropped our keys and garage remote in a box near the pool house and were on our way! I have been to a lot of timeshares through exchanges. I feel as though Massanutten is right at the top of the list of our favorites.
