Overview
Condo/Apartment -
1 Bedroom , 1 Bathroom , Sleeps 4
Wellington, Greater Wellington, North Island
ApTrAp is the ground floor of our 1950s wooden house. Its private entrance takes you through our potager garden; its conservatory windows open on to our five apple trees - golden delicious, gala, cox's orange, monty surprise, granny smith. Through the conservatory (also serves as dining room) , is a studio - sitting room, a double bedroom, and fully equipped kitchen and shower toilet room. There's underfloor heating throughout, SKY TV plus wi-fi, and you sleep under feather Fairydown duvets. The whole place is peaceful and quiet, its big windows looking out to the King Fern (with luck, there'll be a bird resting on it) , lancewood and other native trees, plus colourful flowers and flaxes of all sorts.

We live in Newtown, Wellington's most cosmopolitan suburb. 4 mins walk away is the bus stop with regular buses int...

Nora and Rob are delightful guests - and obviously very observant and gracious ! It is our great pleasure to have them stay with us - and to know that they appreciate the simple pleasures that ApTrAp has to offer ! Ian and Marjorie

About the neighbourhood
It is an hour's drive from Wellington to Martinborough, where they produce many excellent pinots, or Otaki with its Maori heritage, gardens and lovely ocean beaches.

Drive on and you'll soon be at Mount Bruce, admiring native kaka parrots and kakapo, or travelling beside the majestic Rangitikei river, or perhaps admiring the gannet colony at Cape Kidnapper's before going on to Napier to see the unique collection of 1930s Art Deco architecture and then choosing your favourite merlot from one of Hawke's Bay's many sun-drenched vineyards.

To the west is the province of Taranaki, whose distinctive conical mountain overlooks lush dairy farms and maraes and villages carrying mementoes of the land wars fought between the indigenous Maori and British settlers in the 18...
