About the neighbourhood
Royal Jozini Big 6 Estate has 5 eco systems and is part of the Lake Jozini Transfrontier Park (border fences are not yet down) and the Reserve is earmarked for the Big 5 - with Number 6 being the tiger fish in the lake. Set against the backdrop of the Lebombo Mountains, Royal Jozini is not only a nature lover's paradise, but also offers tiger sport fishing. However, if drought conditions prevail, it is not possible to launch a boat when lake is shallow. (Lake Jozini is part of the Pongolapoort Dam)
How to get there
From Johannesburg, take the N17 to Ermelo and then the N2 to Pongola. After Pongola turn left when you see the sign to GOLELA which is at the Swaziland border 10kms after the N2 turnoff. From Durban, take the N2 to Richards Bay and then onwards towards Pongola. Ignore the sign to Jozini (this goes to the Pongolapoort Dam wall and the town of Jozini) but shortly after, turn right at the GOLELA sign post. Once through the border, go through Lavumisa and at the round about take the road to Manzini (straight across). 9kms further you will see the entrance to Royal Jozini on your right hand side. Take care at the level crossing as the train track is in use.
