I do not own any cats, but the local cats do come asking for food, and if you feed them, they wont leave! If you like cats please feel free to feed them but note that cats are NOT PERMITTED INSIDE the house. 2 bedrooms: one sleeps 3 people (1 single, 1 double-bed) and the other has a double bed. 1 bathroom: with shower (another shower in back garden to wash off the sand!) Assistance: A guide of things to do is provided if you want to venture from the beach. Wonderful local manageress speaks German, English and Spanish and is helpful and professional (pre-arrival shopping service provided on request for example). Kid-friendly items such as Childrens box (toys/useful stuff) travel-cot, high-chair etc, available on request for small additional charge. Please note that a copy of ID may be requested for all occupants. Access: 40 minute drive from Jerez (JRZ) airport (cheap flights with RyanAir), on smart new coast road, straight to El Palmar exit. Seville is 1.5 hours away, also via same fast, smooth E5 road. See travel section for more info. Beach: El Palmar Great quality sand, and gentle waves. Nudist beaches also available (10 minute walk away). Perfect for learner surfers and families. Local Area: Not highly developed - think sand-dunes and super laid-back bars and restaurants, but with a chemist, supermarkets and take-out pizza & other good restaurants on hand (summertime). Fantastic artisan market, surf schools, kite-surfing, golf courses, and horse-riding are some of the more active things available locally. Stylish bars are scattered along this coastline all the way to Tarifa (e.g. Canos de Meca), catering to the funky Madrid crowds that come here in August in their droves. Its worth renting a car, to give you access to so many interesting places in the area. A 5 minute drive into Conil offers many, many restaurants. bars and action. Weather: Generally fantastic, but can sometimes get the wind from Africa (El Levante). Plenty of other things to do on such days - certain beaches are protected from the wind, or explore the beautiful white-washed local towns of Vejer & Conil - or venture further afield to Cadiz, Jerez, Gibraltar, or Seville. In winter the average temperature is 16-20 degrees. Tourist License / Licencia de turismo N °: VFT/CA/06751More

A lovely house. Very close to the beach. The house has everything you need and was very clean and comfortable. The front and back garden are wonderful for lazy afternoons and al fresco dining. We had a great time in Casa de Alison.

We were here in the off season so most of the summer places were closed. The up side is that the beach was almost deserted save some surfers, fishers and local dog walkers. And what a beach! Long and wide with beautiful sand. Perfect for...More

About the neighbourhood
The area has not suffered from the over-development that characterises some of the other Spanish Costas despite having some of the most spectacular beaches in Spain, backed, not by ribbons of development, but by sand dunes, marshland, farmland and dense pine forests. With an average of 3200 hours of sunshine per year (the highest in Spain) and cooling sea breezes off the Atlantic ocean, it is a haven for holidays at all times of the year. Between late June and early September, the Costa de la Luz is still largely the preserve of Spanish holidaymakers. Out of high summer season (and except for Easter) there are few tourists, though the weather in Spring and Autumn is often perfect. There are three surf schools operating in El Palmar (mostly out of high season). There are also several 18 h...
Getting around
It’s walking distance to local bars and shops. Having a car is great for accessing the beautiful white pueblitos (local towns) and alternative beaches, especially if the levante wind gets up (this comes from Africa, a strong hot wind during the summer months lasting up to 3 days at a time).
