Old Forge Cottage is a newly refurbished stone built 1 bedroom cottage situated in the popular village of Wylam. The accommodation is on 2 floors and consists of 1 bedroom with kingsize bed and sofa bed (for children) and a separate bathroom with a shower over the bath. Downstairs there is an open plan living room/dining room which comfortably seats 6 and dining for 4. The modern kitchen is fully equipped including, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer, kettle, toaster, washing machine. Outside there is off road parking for 2 cars and an electric car charging point. The village has great amenities and the accommodation is centrally located to the shops, pubs, restaurants, cafe and park/grass areas. Central heating, bed linen and towels inc. There is an extra £25 charge to supply bedding for both sofa beds. The owners can securely store bikes and pushchairs on request. The owners of Old Forge cottage require a damage deposit of £100- this will be returned to you on satisfactory inspection of the property after departure. More

A great place to crash after a busy time for us. Wood Oven pizza restaurant just round corner offers great comfort food and the new Coop filled the gaps. Thanks to Debbie for her welcome.

Wylam is the birthplace of George Stephenson, his cottage is located just 10 minutes walk away and Old Forge Cottage is where the locomotives Wylam Dilly and Puffing Billy were believed to have been built and maintained. There are some beautiful walks from the village, following the river tyne or along the Hadrians wall.
